Though I try to avoid McD's like the plague, back when I used to go there I loved the QP's. I had a few Big Mac's but ... never really did it for me. Nowadays, I go to harveys or wendy's. More expensive, but at least the meat tastes a little LIKE meat. Though, if I want a real burger, I'll just make one myself.

Although BK burgers are generally bigger, and the only thing big about the Big Mac is the price, you just can't beat the flavor of the Big Mac.
Solution? Order a pint of Big Mac Sauce and use as a condiment on any burger you buy. It's called good money management.

For me, the main factor is the quantity and the price. Of course taste is a large factor as well, but with these two options, I don't mind either. I've had both, I believe, and my first off-the-bat choice would be the Quarter Pounder; just for the sake of having avoided McDonalds. But, once you add hunger into the equation, with the pricing, I'd go Big Mac. Think about it. Quarter pounder is basically two pieces of bread, a thick slab of meat, and a few toppings and condiments. The Big Mac has two pieces of meat, although, when added together, come very close to the amount of the Quarter Pounder,- It does however contain an extra bun, which, in my thinking, fills me up that much more. This is why I tend to order two small burgers/sandwiches instead of adding an extra slab of meat on one - pumping up the price to the same. Then again, I've seen Big Macs that make me sick to look at. Sick. It's up in the air for me; I may need a bit of swaying before I make my final decision.

Even though they are both heart attacks waiting to happen, the quarter pounder satisfied my lusty cravings within my salivary glands.

They are both fucking delicious. And while I enjoyed the amusing thoughts of Suki, I have to give my vote to the Quarter Pounder. As others have said, it arguably offers a better bang for buck, and the ketchup/cheese combination is always a winner. (although according to Wikipedia, the American Big Mac has 30 more calories, but 5 less grams of protein, so I suppose it depends on how you define the quantity and quality of sustenance. I am Australian, and I CBF checking the website). I usually customise my order to a Double Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese, add bacon. (I'm only 69.2 kg or 152.6 lbs, due to my ninja-like metabolism and relatively young age of 24.) That being said, sometimes you just feel like a Big Mac, you know? The sauce is undeniably tangy and saliva-inducing, and I'm sure it has turned many-a-vegetarian in its time. It is, however, notorious for being poorly constructed, with lettuce and shit pouring out of the towering monstrosity like the defenestrated Bran Stark.

I've had a couple of Quarter Pounders lately, after a few years away from them. They're completely graceless but very effective when you just want to stuff your face with something. I've gone the Double sometimes too, but that really throws off the balance of meat to bun too much. Might have to consider adding bacon next time, though.
