N v1.4 for Mac??

I am a big fan of v1.4, and used to play it obsessively. Recently I have been wanting to play it again and download v2 but its just not the same... i want to play 1.4 again.

However I only have Mac and can't find anywhere to download v1.4 that works on Mac. I found one post saying "NReality" has the old version, which I downloaded but when I opened it it was just v2 again, even though the file was called 'n_v14.swf'. I don't know where else to turn so I made an account on here hoping that one of you can help me out!

that seems super weird.

do you mind going through the steps you're taking?

Here you have the flash file for N 1.4, I've never used a mac computer so I don't know if this will be useful for you, but at least you can be sure this is 1.4 and not 2.0.

N 1.4 was released for PPC on Macs so they can't run on any Intel-based Macs. That version was released around 2004, 2 years before Apple switched to Intel processors.

Sorry I found out what the problem is. For some reason it was automatically launching v2.0 which I had downloaded previously when I clicked on the NReality v1.4 file. I tried dragging the file into Firefox to play it and it works fine in my browser.

However, the one only issue I have is that is doesn't download records of each level when I go into the highscores section. My own highscores are there but not the world records. Anyone know why?

there are security issues that prevent a flash movie from accessing the internet. you'll either have to go through a complicated process to whitelist the directory N is in so it can make network requests, or you can get a mac standalone projector and open the flash file with it.

you can get the projector here:
