This is really a serious problem and I cant understand how M&R are completely ignoring our prays.

They're working on it. They can't just magically fix it. It'll be fixed with the 1.5 release, I'm sure.

well... they haven't completely ignored it, they have acknowledged the problem several times and although it has been several months since they claimed to be 'working on it'... unfortunately, it seems they have more important stuff to do at the moment... nevertheless, our patience is wearing thin...

Somebody said that'd be good to implement two different modes into the new N - classic mode (no repaired glitches, all the bugs from v1.4) and fixed mode (that'll fix the major and minor glitches, bugs etc. in the game). That was a fucking good idea.

Yeah, I know it'd be hard work to maintain the boards, but they could "clean" the boards once a year, or choose a moderator of the boards, etc
I dont know if this would be difficult to be done.

I emailed M&R about a year ago asking them to clean the highscore boards. I gave them a detailed list of all of the hackers and what scores to delete. I didn't ask for any of the "cheated" scores to be deleted, only those where the score does not match the time displayed in the highscores. I mentioned to them that if they were too busy to do this I would be willing to be a moderator and delete the scores personally and actively maintain the boards.

They never replied to be, but I guess at two issues they may have. First would be trust, they don't know me and I can understand them not wanting to give me access to their database seeing as if I have the power to delete a hacked score, I would certain have the ability to delete legitimate scores. The second is I think they are rather apathetic to the issue because they know that they have already broken all of demos in v1.4 so they most likely just plan to wait until v1.5 where the boards will be completely cleaned of any runs anyway.

In my opinion I think I am a rather trusted member of this community (mostly just highscore wise I can see some disagreeing with that since I only frequent the highscore forum) and I think that people would be willing to have me be that moderator if M&R would give me access. However if they wanted someone they know better I would understand and as long as it gets done I don't care who does it.

Regardless of their concerns it has to get done because there is enough people that don't want to see v1.4 deleted from the history when v1.5 comes out, if it ever does. There are 6 boards that are completely maxed out with hackers, all 20 scores are hacked and higher than is possible to get through legitimate runs. This I find quite unacceptable and I am saddened to know that M&R find it permissible.

Yeah, I understand it would be difficult for them to trust anyone they dont know enough to give him power to moderate their database, but I cant think in other solution :¿

But you remember they asked us for feedback and advises for N1.5, so why dont do the same for v1.4, i'd be great if they created a poll saying "Do you want our database to be moderated by an user?", Im sure the answer would be yes.

I hope they'll read these posts anytime soon and at least answer us! I'd really support TRO or any other user (well, not anyone) to moderate the boards.

I have given up any hope in Metanet as a whole. I don't expect a new game; Metanet is effecively gone, through my eyes. This way, I won't be disappointed if they don't release any new games, but will be happy if they do release a new one. I do agree that the highscores needs cleaning up, but for now we must sit tight.

I wonder whether Metanet is effectively gone, through Metanet's eyes?

This post strikes me as a tad inconsiderate, given it's in a thread started by Raigan, asking the fanbase here for suggestions (and I should think, encouragement) for the production of a new version of n for us all to enjoy.

Don't give up hope, in other words. I certainly won't. But if you do, don't post about it here. Metanet needs our encouragement!

Cleaning the highscore boards and moderating it would be great, but nevertheless, /all/ the demos would be removed. Would that be good?

The demos arent going to be removed, thats for sure as M&R specificately said it.
They are going to keep the current leaderboards, and there's going to be new leaderboards for the new N1.5.

I hate to say this but they don't seem to care at all about the highscoring community anymore or the community at large it seems.. I just hope it's because they're too busy with N2

Why not? I liked N+. I thought it was a step forward for Metanet, and if they can fix some of the kinks in N+ that people disliked, then I'd be great.
