Simply: this game is one of the most satisfying hobbies I have. It placates a creative lust and fills in the gaps sparks ideas for my other projects when I'm lacking inspiration for them. It fits in perfectly as part of that process.

It also has one of the best communities surrounding it that I've come across.

I agree, only I don't have the ability to utilize such powerful words in daily vocabulary.

I played for the enjoyment in having nothing better to do and resulted in nonstop playing. Weird how things work huh?

I mostly play these days to make my own maps and to see what sorts of maps other people are making.

I play generally to create maps that others will enjoy. I don't really play many people's levels, and I'm certainly beyond playing the in-game levels, but I like to make something for the enjoyment of others. Also, I'll play the occasional odd map by a new author, and give them tips and criticism, as I know that's harder and harder to find for a new member these days. But I agree with gloomp. I would've stopped playing long ago if the game wasn't tied to such a fantastic community of amazing people.

All of the above. Except for highscoring. I can't highscore.

But if I had to pick one... the community.

Does playing N really require a reason? It's like asking someone why they're still alive.

Well, not exactly, but hey. If you wanna call it that way... :D
I started to play this on one of those online gaming sides. Faved it right away. Saw there was a full version etc.
First I played to beat all the levels. But, my pc can't handle N. :(
Now I make maps mostly and I play some userlevels.
I like it because it is so simple but so much fun.

I didn't find out about N til after I found out about N+. I was just scrolling through the PSP games they had and I saw this game named "N+" and so I Youtubed some videos about it and a lot of XBLA stuff came out, so then I put N+ PSP and it was looking pretty awesome. So yea, I downloaded the game and I've been addicted since. It's only been a week since I downloaded the game too! xD Then I went to metanets site and saw that N was free so I downloaded it.

I continue playing for no other reason than the community. I wouldn't be playing if I weren't so immersed in the community, and my playing time can be directly correlated to my community involvement.

Strongly agree with Kablizzy, as to why I play N now.

However, I started to play N because of the relative simplicity of the game, and the huge scope for possibility it has.
