what is the deal with n at this point? maybe I'm an idiot, but I can't seem to track this information down

whatever happened to n v1.5? is that not happening?

what's this about n v2.0? is that just a way of making us feel better about never seeing a v1.5?

I missed out on the beta... was that just a limited online thing and not a real download? or can I still get a copy somewhere?

and finally and most importantly, when is n v2.0 coming out for real? if we don't know, does anyone have a guess based on what they've been saying?

Apparently v1.5 is v2 now. Not really sure ...

No, it was a contest and will prolly be the next version of N once everything is smoothed out and perfect.

If you really want a guess:
optimistic answer: at most half a year.
other answer: never.
Can't rush these things.
So far, it doesn't really matter when it is released. Probably a boost in plays will result, and maybe NUMA will be fixed by then to handle it. However, not much else is really going to result (in the mapping world. Highscorers will go nuts.)
