Basically, when someone puts a numerical rating in their comment, but doesnt actually rate it. Just a little survey to see if people actually mind this or not.

Nope. I think a comment of what they would rate it is even better than a rating.

Comments are just plain better for determining attitudes.

I guess, but it wouldnt do any harm for them to rate it as well and actually keep the map on hot maps for longer. That said, comments are more useful than ratings, but more ratings means your more likely to get comments.

I do when the only thing they put for a comment is their rating, I don't when they give good feedback.

That does really bug me. It's like there teasing you 0_o. Seems as if people try to act like rates don't matter, but they do, they keep your map up longer for more comments. So saying a rate is worthless is stupid.

No, it doesn't bother me. You're not entitled to feedback at all, so getting your knickers in a knot when people give comments but neglect to rate is a bit silly.

I'm not sure if anyone's ever done that on one of my maps, though I have seen it on other people's maps.
I wouldn't mind too much if someone did forget to rate my map.

Only if they comment with only their rating. If they have a well thought out comment with a rating, I don't mind so much.

Postby Evil_Sire » 2008.11.06 (18:01)

Funny how it's mainly new people who are bothered.

I rated "Nope" because I really don't care about rates, having rated maps is nice but it's not needed.

There used to be a time when ratings meant something to people.

If someone posts with just their rating, I will bump them.

Only when the person in question would've rated a 5 and only they looked at it; had they rated, the map would've recieved a bump up the hot maps page and had more chance of attention.

But if it already has a few comments, no.

I think it's annoying. I even rate when the ratings are disabled on the map (in a comment).
Though I have forgot to rate about 4 times and you may consider me a hypocrit (I spelled that last word wrong; sorry)
Anyway, my point is I usually find it annoying but don't mind that much.

Doesn't really affect me. Most of my maps that fall into such category are ratings disabled anyway, so no problem there.

Think of it this way - If people 'forget' to rate your map it is probably because they were simply blown away by the map's excellence...
