It's been a few since numa was designed and I'm starting to get bored with the look of things around here. It's about time she gets a face lift, so here's what we'll do. Each and everyone of you can submit your numa redesign to ninjarobotyeti [droni.es]. You must include in your entry: a home, hot maps, active authors, profile, and submit maps page. Feel free to go beyond what numa is now, I'm completely up for structural changes in order to create a stylish finished product.

The entries are subject to my discretion, but the winner will be made a moderator immediately in order to initiate the switch over to the new design.

You have till September 20th to get those entries in! Happy designing.

-love, your friendly neighborhood admin.

I've only just gotten used to this one, and now you're going to change it again?
Ugh.

If it took you more than two years to do so, it's probably more your fault than anyone else's.

Shouldn´t we at first fix thumbnail zoom before we change the whole design?

It should probably be pointed out that the 'nid has made himself available for a short period of time. If you guys can do this stuff at this end, he'll be able to work on quick fixes for other problems.

I urge you guys so hard to submit some new designs.

Well, yes, but they need community insight on the design. They can fix the thumbnail by conscripting incluye or something.

The only thing I'd change is adding the "Submit Map" button somewhere at the top, to be accessible from the homepage.

Hmm, maybe designing several themes and letting user select his own?

Oh and I love ska's design, may we use this?

I do not like this. I'd only be in support if this was an alternative skin. NUMA is a slick site right now.

Okay. I don't see how the solution is a re-design. That won't fix anything other than adding pretty colors.

The idea:

Login and search area stay pretty much the same, also the 'you have 1 unread comment' thing and stuff. (everything that happens on the top).
The map section is located right above the center of the screen. You have all the tabs there that you have under the original 'maps' tab. The bar is some sort of scroll idea, where you just have to move the mouse to the right to scroll to the right, etc. This bar will stay up constantly, so the new maps get some more attention.
Then there's a chatwindow in the lower right. I don't know if it's possible or not, but I think it would be cool. If someone's online he appears in the chatwindow and he can chat. Lower left is the place where the 'Home', your 'profile' and 'other' are located. If you click on any of those tabs their subtabs will appear underneath them. And if you click on those subtabs the content of the subtab will appear under the chosen subtab.

My intention was to make something where you don't have to hop from page to page, but find it all togheter on one page, where you can go to other stuff via the tabs or via scrolling with your mouse.

EDIT:

also, if you click on a map, it wont take you to another page, but the map with it's rates, comments, and description will appear where the 'home' etc... section was. If you click on (for example) the 'home' tab again, the map page will dissappear and the 'home' page will appear again.

Also, I clearly suck at graphical stuff, so if someone wants to work this out, that would be rad. I hope everything's clear and doable.

Hmm, crescor's map scrolling idea is nice. Also, the "who's online" thing would be useful, too.

Something like on YouTube? NOOOOOOO

I rather like the way NUMA is now, why does it need to be changed again so soon?

Like you have some stationary parts that never change, for example the tabs, the chat window, the login thing and the search thing. And the rest changes according to the tab you pressed. I don't know if youtube uses it. Hypem.com does it and I like it there. It's quite usefull.

I like the way it is now, but if we were to have another skin, I hope it would be a user-option to switch or alternate between the two.

Regardless, I'll have mine up here soon.

these propositions excite me; I feel NUMA needs to step its game up. i support a new skin and new features.

a who's online feature is a MUST. i spend time on NUMA mainly to interact with people i enjoy, and this feature would be greatly helpful.

Hey, I recognise those maps, Ska! <3

Also, I really like the ideas behind Crescors concept. I might attempt a mockup of that myself.
