Any map that feels refreshing in terms of style, quality and/or ideas compared to the average map. A pretty broad and subjective definition though.

A feature showcases the reviewer's style and taste just as much as the mapmaker's - I like any honest review because of that insight. I regret not being more gung-ho about reviewing because, like other media, it's fun to display and boast your own taste.

If it's fun. Everything else is secondary, but most of the times maps that play well look great as well. I think fun comes from new playing experiences, so original design is always appreciated - I won't feature maps of which there are thousand copies on nmaps and which everyone has played a thousand times. My intention is to offer the reader new experiences.

I love concept maps, as long as the concept isn't annoying or pointless.

I like art.

I favor fun and open action levels though, I like seeing contests with speedruns and AGDs in the comments. Those kind of features are the best.

Hey guys, let me make a quick reminder, the question and the topic is What's exactly for you a Featured Map? not What kind of Featured Map you like most. Some of you answered and opined pretty well, though.

A featured map for me is a map that is of enough quality, uniqueness, or just plain special enough to rest on the front page of NUMA and serve as an example of our community and/or a map that we have to brag about or point out.
