I got 160.425, still cleanable, but definitely not by 1.3 secs. Maybe doing this route way cleaner, and avoiding the walljump in both sides could be as fast, but I doubt its worth it.

I feel like this round's map will have a lot more variety in routes, with maybe only the top 2 being the same/similar. Seems much more open and free-form to me.

After a few minutes of playing the round 2 map, I wasn't really digging it. Then I started getting used to it, and really warmed to it after about 30 minutes of playing. It's like a more cognizant version of 82-4, without the annoying squeeze. So I suppose this means I will be facing LouDog again, right?

Nice, that sounds like it will be tough to beat. I had a few goes and was getting around 142-143

Does this head to head system pair together based on the runs from the previous week, or am I doomed to always be against Eddy?

Edit: Got 144.3, was going to set my goal at 145 but I don't think I'll manage it without a faster route.

If yours is terrible, what does that say about mine? I'm 5 seconds behind you lou! That said, I haven't looked since the first time I played to try out any other routes yet.

Edit: I've now had a chance to look at other routes and improved by 8 seconds. Looks like Lou's the only one still under 140, out of those who've submitted a time at least. I think I'm gonna have trouble beating MibeM this week though still.

the one thing that gets me is that by only having to do enough to beat Lou's time, I would be discouraged to get the best time, since next week I'd be potentially paired against a tougher opponent. Oh well...

I've had a thought based on what jp and ska have mentioned. I think the match ups might be more fun and varied if this is set up like a king of the hill. That way you'd never face the same opponent two weeks in a row, and you can't game the system looking for weaklings like me.

Regarding the contest: I would do a 6 points, 5 points, 4 points etc like in the point rankings.

After a certain amount of weeks (Let's say 12), You can have a finals system or something like you're currently doing with the head to head match-ups... just an idea. Of course, you can always retroactively allocate points for round 1 if you want to.

Yeah judging by the times I think they are very similar, just got a 144.6.
I don't have any large time saving ideas, but I've got a few smaller ones that might just push it above 145.

That tournament structure looks pretty good, although I feel sorry for the person who gets 3rd and has to fight through 2 extra rounds.
We could do with a few more participants really.

Yeah that bracket looks more fair, places 1/2 still get a bye and won't fight until the final, 2/3 get to play each other (assuming 3 wins their first round), and everyone plays a max of 3 rounds.

I managed to get 144.800 without doing the hard trick, I'm surprised there was still that much to be gained by simply cleaning my route. My "best" run so far was 141.500 just barely missing two gold, so 145 is definitely doable. Going to bed now, will be trying some more tomorrow.
