Whilst I recognize your sentiment, from a purely external, objective point of view, I would've thought it was fairly unlikely that the highscoring would come down to a bottleneck, as you can slip through either side of the drone. Having said that, I can see how it would be frustrating, now that you have seemingly converged upon said bottleneck.alsojp27ace wrote:I don't particularly like levels that have such a limiting drone at the end of them, I feel that it devalues the start of the run and becomes a frame war at the end (or at least it 'groups' players by the start of the run, and them becomes a frame war).
Taken for now nonetheless.

Also, before you start on this map, would you please head over to THIS THREAD and help us choose the best runs of 2014? I would be mad appreciative. And, as always, good luck and may the oddballs be ever in your favor.

I try to update at least once a day, but I can't always. Also, glad you like the maps. Makes me feel good about myself and shit. c:Etz wrote:I also joined. This is a very good idea, the maps are also SO good :D
The first post needs a bit of a refreshment though...

I think it would be a good idea if climb took a hiatus so that you guys can focus on BLUR. This will also give you all time to catch up on the previous maps.

Well, first I'd like to see if there's still interest in this. If not, The Neverending Contest will have ended.▲▪►▪▼◄▲ wrote:Would like to take over from me? I would be okay with that.macrohenry wrote:Now that everything seems to be fixed I'd love to see this contest being continued.

I was a big fan of this contest as well. I bought a new laptop and once it arrives I'll be more active in the NUMA highscoring community (maybe even IRC!?) so I would like so see this continue in good hands. I still don't think there would be much coding involved in automating a scoreboard, but unless anyone has a clue where to start, it's back to manual updating. I would also suggest that we introduce 10-map 'seasons'. So I will add one more map to Season 1 and then we'll start Season 2. Should there be a winner for Season 1 or should people be able to improve their scores as they like?golf wrote:I'll add throw my hat into the ring for those who are in favor of a new map. To me, the beauty of this competition, compared to the NPoints that is just beginning, is that you can still go back and play maps from previous weeks. So even if somebody doesn't have the time to do this and NPoints in the same week, the Climb map will still be around and waiting for them to post a score on sometime in the future.
But yeah. Hello everyone. Glad to see there's still an interest.

So you're saying you'll keep this running? That'd be great. If not, I or anyone else can take over I guess.▲▪►▪▼◄▲ wrote:So I will add one more map to Season 1 and then we'll start Season 2.
The thing I like about this competition is that there's no pressure since there are no winners or losers. I would like it to stay that way.▲▪►▪▼◄▲ wrote:Should there be a winner for Season 1 or should people be able to improve their scores as they like?

Uh, no. I'll still be busy working. You're taking over once I post the final map for Season 1. Also I have a list of some maps I'll send to you that you can look over and see if they'll suffice.macrohenry wrote:So you're saying you'll keep this running? That'd be great. Yes, it's only been 6 days but since I won't have time tomorrow to announce the next map I'll do that now. Shouldn't be a problem as you can still play all the earlier maps of course.
Please add your scores to this spreadsheet as always. Happy climbing!
