Since we're into the elimination rounds now I would personally like to see the player and the score to get that 1v1 feel, but I respect whatever you choose since you're running the show.
This is my preference, as well.
Same here.

Okay, rather than just handing over the scores and players (which wouldn't be very exciting now, would it?), I've created two separate puzzles that will allow anyone to use logic to deduce which player scored what. Please do not post the answers; feel free to say if you solved it, but please don't post the answers here.

The following players have submitted speedruns: danielr, Eddy, jp27ace, golfkid and MiBeM.

The order of names was randomized, as too was the frame count of their runs: 726, 737, 655, 808 and 676.
Obviously, each player who has submitted a run will know their score, and, more importantly, where they stand against their opponent. However, that IS NOT a prerequisite for deducing each player’s rank and score thanks to the following four clues:

1: Jp27ace’s score is non-symmetrical
2: golfkid’s score is not in the 700s
3: MiBeM’s score is the median one.
4. Eddy’s score was in the 600s

By using a logic matrix, you can figure out each player’s scores just by reading the clues, even if you haven’t submitted a score yet. That was just a warm-up. Same thing applies for this puzzle — you don’t need to have submitted a run to solve this puzzle.

The highscores in descending order are: 205.100, 204.250, 204.225, 203.075, 202.700 and 202.675.
The following players have already submitted highscores: danielr, oxymoron93, xaelar, jp27ace, EddyMataGallos and vankusss.

1. The current 0th score is held by a grandmaster, either past or present.
2. Vankusss’ run was a frame faster than another player.
3. If you added up the individual digits of each player’s score (i.e. a score of 123.450 would be 15, as 1+2+3+4+5+0 = 15), then the combined total of xaelar’s digits would be twice as much as danielr’s.
4. The combined total of oxymoron’s digits is a prime number.

Happy problem solving!

There will be one more update. After that, you can submit freely without risk of having your score revealed.

I have attached a quiz in EXE format. (Windows, Wine, etc.)

There are 20 questions. You need to answer 15 or more correct to unlock the last known results before the deadline. (75% or higher)
Also, although you will get a mark out of 20 at the end, you won't know which ones you got wrong. (Unless you go through time consuming trial and error.)
Since there is no time limit, feel free to look up any of the answers. This is a completely "open book" quiz. Ha ha.

If you don't have a Windows machine capable of running EXEs... Why not? :P

Quiz is here!

Wow, MiBeM! That's a crazy amount of dedication for one map.

The results will be posted in the coming days. Unfortunately, I have a day job that needs tending to, so the results will need to wait a bit; I am sure you will all understand. Except van, it seems...
(Yes, on a Saturday. Lucky me!)

Thanks... I'm not one to give up easily. If the round wasn't over I would likely do the same tomorrow. The situation being what it is, though... I wish I had allowed myself to quit a little earlier. Could have done something useful with all that time.

Here are two crazy demos I got on blur maps that are definitely worth watching:
1.)
2.)

Ha ha. Very nice. The corner push in the first run was massive.

A couple of things:

1) Sorry for taking so long to get the results up. Again, I have had pressing business related matters that have needed to be addressed, as I have recently been appointed as a business development officer at an international technology firm. (May [insert deity here] have mercy on their souls!) As I'm sure you can appreciate, this is a position—while being a fantastic opportunity—does not give me the freest of schedules.

2) An unnamed player sent me a Skype message three days ago, saying that he would be leaving the next day for an entire week. If I started now, I think it would be unfair on him to have less than two days to submit a run (as he has qualified for the next round). Now, I won't say which player it was, because if I did, then it would mean inadvertently giving away a spoiler. I suppose this is serendipitous, since it buys me some slack time to get the results up and announce the next round's map.

Thanks for your patience, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused. If any other players would like to request a break in advance, I am willing to extend to them the same courtesy. I don't think that—and I'm sure you would all agree—anyone should be eliminated based off their inability to compete, whatever that reason might be.

You could just post the results without starting the new round, so that we can at least watch all those cool demos that have so far been for your eyes only.

First of all, I am really satisfied how you lead this competition. I don't see problem with extending duration of BLUR as much as it need. It is better to find one week when all players can fairly compete (by "fairly" I mean, for example, last 5 days of competition week), than extending that competition week, which we did once. Just to say, I didn't had problem with that too. I am just saying what is better in my opinion. I believe BLUR doesn't have to be finished in few weeks, we don't have any time limit. And everything is better than canceling it. I believe it is stupid even mentioning that. (Don't know the reason why second season was cancelled).

About that lifsoff's suggestion, I would like that too, but I can survive if you decide otherwise. You are the boss, ska!

I want things to run fairly democratically (since the competition is predominantly for the enjoyment of the competitors after all), but if I end up acquiescing to everybody's individual demands, the thing can become a chaotic, disorganized mess; I don't think that's something that anyone wants, myself included. Instead, I try to factor in all of your suggestions, while simultaneously implementing what I perceive to be the most beneficial ones for everyone, so that we can all have a fair, balanced and, most importantly, fun competition.

It seems the next round probably won't be finished (or even started) before I leave for my half a year of military service (that day is July 6th), during which I will only be at home and able to play on some weekends. Hence, I think it's best I drop out of the competition now, so you all can enjoy the rest of it without having to deal with my incredibly limited free time while also handling everybody else's schedule issues. I won't say my goodbyes just yet because I'll still be around until the day I leave (duh) but I'll wish you all a great rest of Blur 5 now. I would probably have lost in the next round anyway, so no big deal, right? :P

Ah. I was trying to remember who was leaving for a long time, but I couldn't remember who it was, so thanks for reminding me. I was thinking that, if you make it past the next round, you could either nominate a new player, or we could have a repechage of sorts; essentially, allowing one of the eliminated players or, indeed, a completely new player, to have a chance at winning MiBeM's spot (assuming he is still in the running before he leaves.) Thoughts, anyone?
