difference: 17 frames(xaelar is 337 frames fast after entering (enter point is where the exit switch is in my test map), i'm 358 - 38 (38 to get to the enter point) = 320)
difficulty: easy (after first jump)
comment: the new route can be probably tweaked somewhere, i didn't really think about it a lot

if the image is deleted, it goes like this: fall down, then do 3 wj's going up (right side, left side, right side) and do a cj to get all 3 upper switches in 1 go

Map: 7-4 - Key section
Difference: 1-18 Frames
Difficulty: Ranging (I have several variations on the same idea the faster they get the harder they are.)

New Route: Fastest way. 182 frames


New Route: Slightly slower, different, and easier execution. 194 frames


Old Route: 200 frames


Map: 7-4 - Exit

Just comparing the two types of endings. Jumping or sliding to turn back right and get to the exit. These two were actually extremely close. The sliding method seems to be 2 frames faster, however I fbfed the sliding so I know it is max. I did the jumping real time so there is a chance it could be faster, so these method may be almost equal, so it is your choice.

Sliding 146 frames


Jumping 148 frames

Well, your fastest new route seems pretty hard to me.
An another note, when I do the old route, with your test map, I usually get 187-190 frames.

Several different variations to the end here. I am pretty sure all are too hard for real time, but still innovations nonetheless. Listed fastest first.

new route 180 frames: Requires doing a low jump and a tbwj.


new route 207 frames: Requires a ck on the tile just before the thwump


new route 212 frames: Requires doing a low jump and holding all the way to the gold.


new route 213 frames: Requires a cj, but follows the old route.


new route 216 frames: Requires a tricky move over the thwump, similar to 4-1. Probably useless unless someone can land cleanly on the upper tile.


old route 219 Frames: The best I could get.

This is quite obvious and I am sure people have thought of it, but thought it was too hard. It is actually pretty easy, but not easy enough that if you beat the drone you should go for it. Also the laser drone might get it the way, but I ignored that because he will always fire in slightly different line. Also these times are real rough because I did this in like 5 minutes, but they give a pretty good idea of the time saved.

New route 148 Frames, Do a btwj.


New route 165 Frames, just jump in to the thwumps and get a push, but not jumping off any.


Old route 174 Frames

Map: 35-2
Description: Jump over the seeker drone in the left chamber instead of going under it.
Difficulty: Easy - First jump requires some precision, but since it's the first jump anyway, why not try it anyway.

Can be used for sr (as Kool has done already) and hs. Of course, hitting the corner saves some frames.

Now have some inconsistent demos to show the difference between the normal route and the new route.

280 frames


Hitting the Corner - not an innov, just obviously faster

This isn't really an innovation as it is an easier route. Where xaelar does that double corner jump he was obviously trying to do this: **213 Frames**

This is the fastest route for that section especially if you get a better cj and than me and don't go so high. However it is quite hard to do actually. It took me quite a few tries in this test map.

The route I found is much easier and is only 4 frames slower than run. **217 Frames**

Description: Just a simple test to confirm that doing a wj at then end of each tunnel is faster or not. It in fact is, about 8 frames faster. However, it must be jnj in order to wj. so 8*5=40 frame possible savings.

WJ: 51 frames


No WJ: 59 frames

Nope.
It's another situation you have in that level. I got 0th on 45-3 some minutes ago.
Except for the first and the last of the 5 tunnels it isn't a single frame faster.

Demo:
WJ: 140 frames


No WJ: 140 frames


That's because in tunnels 2, 3 and 4 (and 1 too, in some cases) you have to wait for the floorguard and cannot jump earlier.


EDIT: I might miss one frame with the WJ technique, but it looked frame perfect and I didn't try again. But: same for NO WJ.

Hmm... I didn't take in to account that you can do stunted jump when not wjing and that saves frames over hitting the ceiling. Well that sucks there would have been some semi easy frames left in that level. Great run though. Very clean. One of Lim's older 0ths for sure.

I was messing around on 58-1 Trying to get some of the missed gold. I was able to collect two extra gold on the bottom with relative ease.

It can be done much faster if you don't go as high, but I was just fooling around. Here is proof that it can be done form much lower except I didn't use a from the bottom slant which would be faster.


I was also trying to get the two gold that lim misses on his last pj, they are both stuck behind mines. I think the lower one is impossible. I was able to get this getting the top missed gold, but I miss the lowest gold that lim gets, so this may be useless, but I figured I would post it anyway.


I haven't really thought of a route, but if anyone wants to take on that endeavor there might be quite a bit left in this map if you can get some extra gold.

EDIT: here is a route. Go right at the start and go straight up to the top. then follow this: except get the extra golds and don't go slow as fuck.


EDIT2: you could also do this at the start, and then follow the demo below for the ending, just don't miss that one gold I missed.

Well at the begin you take 2 gold which Lim doesn't take, but you miss another one. So overall it's +1 gold but the route might be 80+ frames slower so dunno if it helps. Anyway I don't like that level :D
At the end it has to be possible to take that extra gold, but might be too hard, dunno.

Well read my two edits, also I take those two extra on the bottom, I was trying to take an extra one on the final pj, but if you can't get both the one under the mine and the one I miss then there is no point you might as well do what lim does there because it is easier, quicker, and the same amount of gold. So the run as a whole should be +2 gold.

Just going to post that this should be possible, with a push off that corner above you after the jump, and of course your first jump preparing for the corner being a 'short' jump where you aren't going for max height off it. Long time no see all, nice to see van still rocking the hiscores. back to lurking and not posting for a few months. :) Cool to see my thoughts on 1.5 from my brief hop into IRC made the topic on it too, pleasant surprise. Anyway.... *dissapears*
