Awesome your last stuff Raif, kudos!

Curious about something, could someone tell me how many MBDs has been beaten in real time and list which ones? Note, that if there are several MBDs of the same run improving the previous one, must have been beaten the faster one.

95-2 Highscore, 9.7 seconds faster than Macro's current 0th.



There are quite a few places where it can be improved, but this took long enough already.

One notable innovation is at the 3 horizontal gold in the top middle, which can be grabbed in a single jump. I'm pretty sure this is simple enough to include in a real-time run.

Thanks guys, I'm tempted to start doing some more MBDs, as I've always enjoyed innovating runs more than trying to execute them (especially when Eddy/Macro retake it within a day :p)

I have a hopefully simple question if anyone knows the answer, is there any difference between pressing both left/right at the same time and pressing nothing?

I would be pumped to see more run out of you jp. Your innovations are top notch.

As for LR frame I believe they have a different hexcode than N frames, but they are treated the same by the engine. I am not sure if you know this trick already, but one thing you can do while MDBing is doing JJJJJ sequences when approaching a subsequent jump (usually a CJ) in the air. This you can't do in normal game play, but if you write that in the code the game will not treat it like JHHHH, but it will actually try and jump on each frame so that makes it easier to get tough CJs and such with out testing every frame.

I don't know if there's a real difference, but doing LR instead of letting go is more accurate in play (from experience, anyway). :P

That was a beast run jp, we will have to update the MBD collection soon, and also the spreadsheet that contains all scores, it must me so outdated now.

I'd say that's just for human players, it's more comfortable to press the opposite direction rather than releasing, but I don't think it has any effect on the actual game.

Since we've been doing all this fact-finding stuff lately, I'd like to see an updated excel spreadsheet that contains these things (at least), since I remember there used to be one years and years ago, but, if it exists, is obviously severely outdated: a column with the current legitimate 0th score holder and its corresponding score and demo data (not all has to be visible, obviously; perhaps some collapsible mechanism. For consistency's sake, let's only put 0ths in the legit column if they were taken on NReality, even if they were legitimately taken using 1.4. Then we can do the same for "Non-NReality scores". This would include all FBF runs, MBDs, 1.4-only 0ths, 0ths in speedrun mode but not in highscores mode (mostly for levels with no gold where the scores are unaffected by off-route gold), runs with modified endings (credit to be shared in this case), and all other demos that fall into this category. I'd also like a column that automatically works out the difference between column A and B, and a grand total of difference at the end, including total level score for both columns. If column B has no faster non-NReality score, then it is automatically cloned with blue text containing column A's data. Non-NReality highscores will be marked red for easy identification. Can we make this happen? It will involve scouring the forums for various FBF runs. I'd also like to open this thread to the submission of FBF runs as well as MBD runs.

I maintained this exact sheet for several years when I was consistently doing the Highscore Rankings. Raif did quite a bit of work keeping the non-legit/MBD/Speedrunmode/underclock section up to date. Though I haven't touch it since March of 2013. I doubt Raif has either, so it is quite out of date. The only difference from this to what you are describing is that any of the 0ths taken on 1.4 that were including in the highscore raknings are in the legit section. So those would have to be peeled out if you want to move them to the non-legit column.

Ah. All of those demos live in different places.

All of the v1.4 0ths should be on NReality just as "." 0ths because I manually uploaded them in the database years ago.
All of the cheated 0ths that Raif never bettered exist on the Metanet highscore boards still.
All of Raif's MBDs and everyone else's FBF/MBDs were compiled by Eddy a few months ago and I edited the link to that in to the first post of this thread.
All of the Underclock and Speedrun Mode 0ths live on the NReality Servers as well.

I believe that Excel can hold 32k characters in a cell as long as it does not contain a function. If it has a function I think it is limited to only 1024.

Edited the end of Raif's 94-2 mbd to save a frame by falling into the slope. Its not much but every little helps in a frame war level. (If only I could find one in 59-0 :p)


I also noticed my 94-0 isn't on Eddy's master list:

I modified your 94-0 ending though, you forgot to press right at the end, hence losing a frame since the door is far apart of the wall (its faster to touch the center of the door). I gained a frame:


This is quite a random map, I mean, you could shave more if the thwump gave you less height, but how to get that?

It would be a combination of a few things. You would have to get a little less speed since you have some extra that Kool doesn't have because of the CK innovation. Then you would also have to mess around with the height at which you jump off the thwump because of the aforementioned less speed.

Hi, im Eddy, a Spanish highscorer and current Grandmaster of N. I've been playing N since 2006, I beat it on the 8th September 2008, and NReality later too. Started intermittently highscoring Metanet in 2010, although serious highscoring started in late 2011.

I, for one, would like to see JP (or anyone else, for that matter) make more MBDs.

Whoa! Them corner jumps... The swift sequence on the middle right towards the end of the run where you pull of a CJ > RCJ > CJ > CJ is awesome and beautifully choreographed. Great route and execution.


Edit: 95-4, Sticking this here so I don't lose it on my HDD. I was attempting to think up a real time method for skipping waiting for the drone at the start. This works, but is way too hard for real time.

13-0 highscore (123.200):


I struggled to get a decent trajectory off that final cj, I'm sure there are still frames left in this level.
