Overall standings: https://spreadsheets0.google.com/spread ... n_US&gid=0

Round 1: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8852
Round 2: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8899

Hello everyone,

this thread will contain only rules and general system. Individual rounds will have their own threads (so that anyone can start them, not only me).

GENERAL SYSTEM
ROPP stands for:

Random - standard map with some or none restrictions. A restriction may be limited number of jumps, prohibition of some moves, etc.
Open - standard map
Protected - protected contest map, which means you're only able to see other people times, not their runs
Private - private contest map, which means you aren't able to see nor times nor runs (except your own)

From this you should be able to guess, that a ROPP round is about 4 maps with 4 different modes. These 4 maps will be played over 2 weeks, which seems enough. There will also be both highscore and speedrun sections, maps for those may overlap. Also, there is no registration time, the round just starts and who wants, joins.

Notice the underlined word in previous paragraph, round. ROPP has indefinite number of rounds planned so far. New round can start only when previous one already ended. The idea behind this is, that basically anyone can choose suitable maps and start a round. That way noone has much responsibility, and if you want to organize a round, you won't need much time, spreading the organization time all over the community.

SCORING
For every round, you'll gain points based on your board placement on every map, following this system:
0th = 10 points
1st = 8 points
2nd = 6 points
3rd = 5 points
4th = 4 points
5th = 3 points
6th = 2 points
7th = 1 point
8th = 0 points
9th = -1 point
10th and everything below = 0 points

As you can see, 9th place is special, so there will be some battles at lower ranks of the board, too :P
These points will determine the round winner, and will also be added to the overall standings table, which will be probably placed on google docs. The exact link will be provided during the 1st round (which will be organized by me).

Ties are considered as a regular places, so if you're tied with 0th, you're 1st. Please, try to not hold your runs until 5 mins before deadline, it ruins the competition and encourages people to dirty tactics, which aren't fun.

STUFF FOR ORGANIZATORS
Demo submission is standard, via NReality.

The maps have to be resubmitted, with proper protected/private contest infos. If the organizator wants to participate, it has to be done by some honest, fair and honorable person, who won't give away the secret demos (and times for private contest case).

!!! NEW !!!: Map resubmitters may now participate as well, however only on random and open maps (for obvious reasons). In order for them to have a chance against people gaining points from all 4 maps, their points from random and open maps will be doubled (i.e. gaining 15 points in random and open means 30 in total).

I'll grant access to the overall standings google doc for future organizers, just notify me (you have to have a google account), so that they can update it with points from the round they're organizing.

FAQ
Question: I submitted an invalid demo for Random map, and I can't improve it without obeying the rules again, what should I do?
Answer: Make a new account <your nick>_NEW1, for example Izzy_NEW1. The highest number at the end of the round from such accounts will be considered as your final run. Try not to pollute the boards with such accounts.

Question: I want to change something in the rules, can my voice be heard?
Answer: It can, just suggest your ideas in this thread.
