It occurred to me that a similar topic doesn't exist on these forums, so I thought I'd start one.

I'm currently loving "The Call", by Regina Spektor, from the new Narnia movie. You can check it out here if you want: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=5kMeVT-13CU.

I'm also enjoying "Ordinary Miracle", by Sarah McLachlan, which you can look at here: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Urv7tyeJ7 ... 1&index=13.

Feel free to post what you're currently digging or listening to, and hopefully this topic will really get somewhere!

I've been listening to some old funk lately, and I've decided that Maggot Brain (opening track of the album) by Funkadelic is probably the best guitar solo ever. Ten minutes of fuzzed out, rippling psychedelic bliss. Heresy from a Hendrix fanboy.

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=dh3bleXWaCk

That version leaves out the brilliant spoken word verse at the beginning though.

Revolver by RATM, tripped out beggining and verses.

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=UfWYypnUXVI

Jethro Tull's version of Bouree, I'm learning the awesome bass solo, and the rest of the bass is also awesome.

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=W37x7lNP4DY

Also most of the other RATM and Muse songs and some speed metal.

Persona 3 soundtrack. I know, they're not technically 'songs' but they count, right?
If not, All Alone by Splittr. I love trance and stuff like that.

I just got Puscifer's "V is for Vagina" album, which I am enjoying quite a bit.

Here's an excellent song from it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG9UrjqyMzw

I'm looking to buy Animals on Wheels' "Designs and Mistakes", and although I can't find anything on Youtube, it can be said that it may be some of the coolest jazz-driven sloppy drum'n'bass/breakcore I've heard.

There was a pre-release of the vinyl on Jan 6 in Eugene, OR at 6pm and I couldn't go because I had class then! (plus I wasn't sure how to get out there anyway, but still!) A little upsetting, but I can't wait to get it, my most anticipated album I've ever been excited about getting.

Right now... Vampire Weekend.
and... that's basically it.

Tanner has me listening to The Shape of Punk to come by Refused, and that's moderately amazing.

I'm also digging Imogen Heap, The Clash, and The Killers as of late.

The Shape of Punk to Come is pretty damn essential.

ACL (Austin City Limits) festival is practically in my backyard, so every year I get new bands to listen to. It also means I get to see Muse, Arcade Fire, etc live.

I especially like Wilco and Crowded House.

The Last Shadow Puppets.

Combines vocal work of Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys and the help of Owen Pallett from Final Fantasy. Definitely worth a listen.

I can't help myself. The last big craze of music I had was Coldplay. So cliche, I know.
