INFINITY SHRED EP 001 (Gnar Dream)
This month saw the release of a new EP from Infinity Shred (who were formerly known as Starscream before legal action from a similarly-named but far less awesome band), and along with the new name comes a new sound, of sorts. The style is roughly the same—progressive electronic post-rock—but there's now more warmth and varied synth texture and less 8-bit, and while I'm a big fan of Starscream / Infinity Shred's earlier chipmusic-based sound, I'll admit that this is not a change for the worse. This is a very nice EP, and what’s more, it’s available for a very nice price. In fact, you can download their whole discography there (minus the early releases they pretend don’t exist) for just $15.50. Don’t think, just do it.
Remember this? For this week only it's now available at an even nicer price--whatever you want.

I'm listening to a weird combo of music right now:
Dubstep and Bluegrass
Dubstep:
Knife Party-centipede, internet friends, fire hive
Datsik-nuke em, gizmo, southpaw

Bluegrass:
Nickel creek-ode to a butterfly, the fox

We Drift Like Worried Fire is actually an old live track. You might have heard it as Gamelan if you were into the bootlegs.

Oh wow, I had no idea. I'll have to check out a few of those bootlegs at some point!

They're both reworks of live tracks. Mladic is Albanian.

Los Planetas - Super 8. Really nice mid-nineties Spanish indie rock. Hits all the right notes.
