I can't imagine having expectations for Matthew Good.
He was the better of the two and wasn't great but at least he had some stage presence. Honestly, someone needs to tell the girls from Mother Mother that they can't dance. It was pretty sad to watch.

I saw The Decemberists live this past summer, and I stood literally 5 feet from Colin Meloy. That show rocked my socks. Oh, Coldplay is pretty good too.

I've never seen dan deacon live, but after watching some of his live stuff I now have to do this before I die.

Watching Nirvana's Live at Reading ('91 or '92) is an amazing performance.

I watched Queen perform live at the National Bowl, and it blew me away. I don't think Paul Rodgers can ever recreate what Freddie did.
I saw Alice Cooper in September, and it was amazing. He killed himself four times during the show. I was in the bathroom when he hung himself, though, so I feel like I missed out a bit.
I'm going to see Dropkick Murphys up in Ft. Lauderdale in March, and I expect a very good show.

EDIT: Saw The Eggmen again Sunday. I probably said this a year ago in this thread, but it's seriously like being at a Beatles concert if you close your eyes.

oh, shit. I just saw tally hall in dallas last night. it was amazing, mostly because for the second half of the concert, they decided to come down and perform on the floor, with everybody sitting down looking up at them. We had been standing, unknowingly, right next to a drumkit covered by a tarp the whole time, which is where they moved to, so they did their performance right next to us. My friend took this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwEga4MriEA

I was sitting right next to him. It was amazing, but would have still been great even if we hadn't been able to look up Zubin Sedghi's nostrils. They're great live, and if they end up near you I highly recommend you go.

rocket_thumped and I took a trip to Omaha, Nebraska last September or October to see Cymbals Eat Guitars and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

CEG was so kickass, about halfway through their act they all put on wolf-face hats and after the show we talked to Joe, the lead singer. He strums his guitar so fast that you can't even make out his arm because it's just a blurry mess. Jerrod and I both got CEG t-shirts. :D
The Pains were less-than satisfying. I didn't really enjoy their set much at all, but that may have been because there was very little stage presence from them. The music sounded great but I kept losing interest, unfortunately.

I saw both bands on the same tour and was much more impressed by Pains, but also got to hang out with those guys, so REVERSO! :D

Live at Blipfest 09. Probably the greatest show I've ever been to! The pairing of the Rosa Menkman visuals and his music was spectacular! Unfortunately they do not have any videos where you can see me ): I was hoping I may have been able to see one of those, because I was moshing my ass off for a straight 30 minutes or so. Very fun!

Also, as a bonus for those who may be interested, Here is a link to a render (Not the live recording) of his full set that night. Very beautiful. Enjoy!

Rush were awesome. Metallicafag and the rest of the crowd was the problem. Sitting down during a rock concert? Who ever heard of such slick faggotry. Plus we swing danced to a drum solo! Don't you remember how awesome that was?!

The only problem with the concert was they didn't just play all of 2112. They played some of Snakes and Arrows. Shudder.
Man, I bought Different Stages JUST because it has the only ever live full version of 2112. I barely even listen to the other songs. That song kicks live.

But S&A is still wicked, even if they played 90% of it live. That was a bit much, I'll admit.
IT HAS A COPY OF 2112 LIVE?! /me rushes to the store to find a copy

Personally, I think Rush supplies some of the best live content. Be it simply because 98% of their songs sounds way better live, be it the drum solo's, be it Alex lifeson's rants, or be it the funny in-between dialogue and the screaming fans, they are AMAZING.

On July 31st and August 1st, Myself, LittleViking, Studebacher Hoch, and Tanner are going to a two-day music festival in the city of Montreal featuring Arcade Fire, Weezer, Pavement, The National, Owen Pallett, and Sonic Youth.

I can safely say that it will be the best live performance Metanet has ever collectively seen.

I'm going to see Pendulum on the 27th of October. They're touring New Zealand and Australia, so if you're in those areas, go! I shall update on how it was after said date.

D: but that sounds amazing and I don't get to go and that's lame. Enjoy pavement for me.

I saw Muse live in concert and that was actually fucking incredible, and Parkway Drive have some epic shit that I've been to, but I'm not sure what I'd rate as my highest. Maybe that one big day out as a collective awesomeness.

I saw Rush back in '07. One of the best nights of my life. I wanted to see the Dream Theater/Iron Maiden tour this year, but it never came anywhere in Florida :(

In the words of the lead singer of opening band Whitman, Titus An-fuckin'-dronicus.

It blew my mind last night. Today I woke up after three hours of sleep with bruises, blue fingernails, the stench of cheap alcohol and blank spots in my memory.

Love.

EDIT!: I touched Patrick Stickles' guitar while he was playing, and he also totally altered his setlist to my tastes when I began screaming TITUS ANDRONICUS FOREVER and wouldn't stop.

Did they stay at your house? I know they were looking for places to crash on the last tour. I offered mine and they politely said that one bathroom was simply not enough.

/me shrugs

They had vans.

(Someone called Whitman opened and was cool, but the next act was a terrible bass+boards European thing called Yellow Fever [not the one you're thinking of] and the singer was on heroin (?) and couldn't say /shit/ and also couldn't really move her eyes it was the worst single live show I have ever seen.)
