okay, so I had this idea, and I quite like it.. and maybe you will too.

basically, post songs you think are good to listen to for certain seasons, moods, activities etc. Moreso activities as there is already at least one or two season-songs threads, and moods is a bit personal and very varying (When I'm feeling down I like to play happy music, but I remember in a chat I had with sept, he listens to more angry/sad tunes).

Feel free to add your songs to other people's activity-as well. I may compile a list, but... I am quite lazy.

sub-catergories would be sick too.

So, a little bit to start us off:

Music to listen to while riding a bike...:
In the rain:
  • Most songs by Toe (especially some like 'Goodbye' and 'I Dance Alone')
Most songs in Jamie T's first album, 'Panic Prevention'
On The Might Of Princes - 'The Water Vs. The Anchor', And the Hat Stays On'
Skrillex's 'My Name Is Skrillex' (free) EP (especially 'My Name Is Skrillex', Fucking Die 1')
Crystal Castles - 'Crystal Castles' (the first one)
In warm weather:
  • 'June Evenings' - Air France
    'My Girls' - Animal Collective
Most Architecture In Helsinki songs, in particular 'Hold Music'
    'The Food' - Common
    'Eye Know'- De La Soul
'Panther Dash' - The Go! Team (as well as a fair few of their other tracks)
'Belong' & 'Feel It All Around' - Washed Out
In general:
  • The more upbeat tunes by Foals, especially 'Mathletics'
The Strokes; 'Room On Fire' & 'Is This It'
a fair few off Arctic Monkeys - 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not', Especially 'From The Ritz to the Rubble' and 'You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Staring Straight At Me
Yeah so... The idea is bit weird, but also, I reckon, a bit cool.
Some posts would be great :)

This is gonna vary a bit, especially for those in different climates. Someone in the desert will probably have different music playing in the rain than someone who lives in the Pacific northwest. But this is kind of a given, and I'm curious to see the different music choices.

On Long Car Rides:
By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers (the title track is the /perfect/ song to start to on a long trip)
Funeral - Arcade Fire
Silent Alarm - Bloc Party
Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
The Blue Album - Weezer
Light Grenades - Incubus
Scenes from a Memory - Dream Theater
Modern Guilt - Beck
Audioslave and Out of Exile - Audioslave

In the Rain:
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
The Meaning of 8 - Cloud Cult
Give Up - The Postal Service
Set Yourself on Fire - Stars
Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers

Night Time albums (I just like listening to these when the sun ain't up)
Hot Fuss - The Killers
Neon Bible - Arcade Fire
In Rainbows - Radiohead
S.C.I.E.N.C.E. - Incubus

Universal Albums (albums I can enjoy at any given time, mood, season, etc. just because they adjust well)
Sam's Town - The Killers
Strawberry Jam - Animal Collective
Pinkerton - Weezer
The Crane Wife - The Decemberists
Mothership - Led Zeppelin
Greatest Hits - Bruce Springsteen

EDIT: Oh shoot, you meant songs. Ah well, the albums pretty much represent my choice of songs.

His examples were albums though Techno, so I think you're right (?). Also, this is what I blog about, a specific song or album for every moment, so I pride myself on it, regardless.

My examples were a mix of albums and songs, but if you include albums, it'd be cool to mention songs that are especially great for the activity, though, i'm not super like. It'd be cool, but. not too much to no pressure to do so haha. Thanks for posting dudes! It's interesting to read :)

I don't think you were very good at the "One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other" games as a kid.
