So ... yeah, can someone help me out? Looking for some good epic metal, preferably death metal or black metal. Or, really, any epic song/album that anyone suggests. Thanks.
PS: Google didn't really help much ... :P

For Black Metal, I highly recommend these 5 bands
Darkthrone
Immortal
Mayhem
Burzum
Dimmu Borgir

Death Metal
Cannibal Corpse (listen to both Chris Barnes and Corpsegrinder's songs, see which you prefer)
Carcass
Morbid Angel
Arch Enemy
Deicide
Death

This is industrial metal, but I highly recommend Ministry. They're a lot darker than most industrial metal bands, especially their first 3 metal albums: Land of Rape and Honey, Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste, and Psalm 69. *They were a new wave/synth band in the early 80s and then Al Jourgensen wanted to change direction...

Ooh. I recommend the album "Below the Lights" by Enslaved. I'd say it's also worth picking up "Isa" by them, too, if just for a couple of tracks ("Bounded By Allegiance", "Reogenesis"). Russian Circles' debut "Enter" is also EPIC, if a little less extreme. Sunn O))) are probably the most EPIC band EVAR, but probably not what you're looking for. Check them out though!

Edit: whoops! I forgot to mention the hardest substance known to man.

I second "Below the Lights," very very solid album. Of course it's good, since ortsz recommended it to me years ago. Also, you may or may not like Dragonforce and once you've heard one song, you've heard them all from them.

I totally just read that as, "I'd hate to be the only black guy stuck using v1.4."

Not heavy enough if you're talking death/black metal.

This is a lie, although rather coincidentally I did just download that album two days ago after re-listening to the Enslaved track that krusch put on my 2007 Secret Santa Mixtape.
