Geez, I'm still working on my 2011 albums. I don't really agree with doing it at the end of the year though. If a genuinely amazing album is released at the end of the year it's likely to get shafted.

Undun :(

Yeah, I'd quite like to see how my 2011 list has changed since the end of last year. This year's been a little disappointing music-wise imo, not nearly as many releases that I've liked, plus some have been especially disappointing.

Oh? For me this year's been much better than 2011. Even a bit better than 2010!

Also yahooz your sig's hotter than a scalding pot full of Emma Watson juice.

Contemporaneousness does not factor very much into my listening, but nevertheless! here's my list of singles.

1. BUONO! 初恋サイダーDEEP MIND
2. 吉川友 こんな私でよかったら*
3. THE J. ARTHUR KEENES BAND Southern Accent**
4. ℃-UTE 会いたい 会いたい 会いたいな (c/w 悲しきヘブン)
5. モーニング娘。 ワクテカ Take a chance
6. INFINITY SHRED Wayfinder
7. モーニング娘。 One・Two・ThreeThe 摩天楼ショー
8. トクマルシューゴ Decorate
9. CHIBI-TECH Moe Moe Kyunstep (live)
10. BERRYZ工房 cha cha SING (c/w Loving you Too much)

* Technically released four days before 2012, but come on. The album wasn't released till 2012 anyway. And it's still less than 365 days ago. And it's still no more ridiculous than Sprawl II topping the RYM 2012 charts.
** Honorary single.

Convenient YouTube playlist.

yep, that was fun

1. Robb Bank$ - Counting
2. Liars - Brats
3. Big Baby Gandhi - American Experience
4. Cas - Drugs Don't Work
5. Oren Ambarchi - Salt
6. Frank Ocean - Super Rich Kids (feat. Earl Sweatshirt)
7. White Suns - Cenote
8. Scott Walker - Epizootics!
9. Lil B - California Boy
10. Gorgeous Children - Grassnlean Dreams

markedly different from my album list. a lot more hip-hop, some strong cuts off albums i found weaker overall. also limited myself to things i could find on youtube, which resulted in a few exclusions/substitutions. this is still just the result of a whim and a couple hours, not definitive in any way.

I haven't grabbed an Oren Ambarchi release in a few years. That's very pretty.

Ha thanks for the shoutout dude, even if you didn't like the list...

dude gloomp I'm really excited to see your list. I keep seeing yr reviews/ratings on RYM on lots of the more esoteric stuff I've been bumping lately, I must be missing out on loads of records.

Was gonna make an ordered list, but it's such an unstable list, I think it's best to just leave it unordered.
  • Myggsommer --#Todd Terje
  • Applesauce --#Animal Collective
  • Feels Like We're Going Backwards --#Tame Impala
  • Why Won't They Talk To Me --#Tame Impala
  • New Year --#Beach House
  • Honeycomb --#Animal Collective
  • Yet Again --#Grizzly Bear
  • Awake --#Smoke Fairies
  • Best Around --#Toro Y Moi
  • Gunshy --#Grizzly Bear
  • Reunion --#the xx
  • Ascending --#Actress
  • Lying In The Reeds --#Lone
  • Cooking Up Something Good --#Mac Demarco
  • The Stars Keep On Calling My Name --#Mac Demarco
  • European Vegas --#Mac Demarco
  • Locked --#Four Tet
  • --skipping over a bunch--
  • Windshield Smasher --#Black Moth Super Rainbow
  • como calha --#b fachada
  • Me & Anodyne --#Hundred Waters
there are a couple more but whatever

And these are some of the album highlights:
ImageImageImage
ImageImageImage

oh and yeah, there's still a lot of 2012 albums on my list, so this is nowhere near finished

edit: I just got reminded of an album. an extremely important album.
