I personally like the nano (because I have one), as they are cheap-ish, have good storage space and are very portable. I would like a touch however.

Touch is by far the best. Applications seal the deal. iPhones are awesome, compacts all your needs into one sexy little apple blazoned package.

If you don't need it for any of that stuff, then Nano's are my favourite.

If you already have a smart phone than I'd go for the Nano. Personally though I am very happy with my 16GB Touch.

Nano. Specifically the weird looking 3rd gen square-ish ones. I just wish mine had about double the capacity :(
