My CPU and GPU generally idle around 40/50C respectively. Under load that goes to something like 55/65C.

My aunt got the new MBP i7 to run at about 100 degrees Celcius (All Adobe Master Suite CS4 running at once w/ parallels and vmware all at the same time).
My friend can get his rig to nearly 125 degrees Celsius. (Crysis on high settings w/cooling off).
My measly rig goes to about 60 degrees Celcius (Running games at medium/high settings).
My Netbook emits a godawful amount of heat from it's one asymmetrical vent (Burns one thigh while sparing the other)

It must be Fahrenheit since otherwise the computers would automatically shut off.

Netbook averages 55-57 when in bed. Averages 51 when in a table. Celsius.

He edited his BIOS settings, and yeah, I was kinda wrong about that temp, it was 110 Celsius.

110 degrees? It still should automatically shut off.

My desktop idles between 30-35 degrees and maxes out around the late 40s

I knew it.
This desktop uses Intel stock cooling on an E2200 (2.2GHz dual core). Idles between 40-50C and gets up to 75 on stress tests

Taken from a review I did recently of a notebook cooler, 1 is idle, 2 is browsing and general use, 3 is after 30 mins of gaming.

The cooler reduces that to 34 on idle, 37 on use and 51 gaming.

Speedfan just shows the highest temp in the bar at the bottom, 85 is apparently pretty normal for a 8600 GT in use.
