i have been using Envy Code R for about a year, before that it was the generic monospaced font that was either in gedit or notepad++... now i make sure my terminals etc are always in envy code because it's so clean to look at.
i find it hard to program with anything else. does any else use anything specific for coding?

ps: envy code link: link

I prefer terminus for console (because it is the best bitmap font) and DejaVu Sans Mono for comfortable writing/editing. I don't like Envy Code R because of rounded "y", it's confusing.

Consolas and Inconsolata are my favorites, really.

Currently, Deja Vu Sans Mono, but I've found Terminus and Inconsolata equally pleasant.
You might also give the Droid Sans Mono a try (http://www.droidfonts.com/droidfonts/), but it's hard to tell its uppercase O's from its zeroes.

Terminus all the way. Deja Vu (or anything Vera based) mono is also good though, I suppose.

Inconsolata or Luxi Mono.
