a community tool for viewing and sharing mappacks before downloading them!

now in beta, here at http://packs.droni.es/
http://packs.droni.es/ http://packs.droni.es/ http://packs.droni.es/ http://packs.droni.es/
http://packs.droni.es/

enjoy another minimal interface with little to no explanation!

the screen you are first greeted with at:
http://packs.droni.es/
is for uploading mappacks to the site
once you have a mappack (i've already uploaded palemoon's HATE mappack to the site):
http://packs.droni.es/adc60cab2b8e830643
here you can browse each map individually and play them without having to download the pack and replace your userlevels!
there is also a handy download link if you end up wanting to!

features you might want, lemme know
same disclaimer as paste, may or may not get around to it
Features:
  • Map preview
  • Automatic map data selection
  • Download link at the bottom

Sidke, I've just noticed that the 'map previewer' make some mistakes, specially with doors, normal ones and locked ones, and other kind of strange and unusual things that you're able to do with objects when you map.

See, this is my last mappack with your previewer: http://packs.droni.es/ca0991059a11d3abf7
And this is the link for the original for you to see the differences: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=9615

You see?

The map previewer was made by AlliedEnvy not sidke and from what I remember AE has a second better version that he never uploaded so this might be something AE has fixed already, but if not it's not something sidke can fix. Sorry.

i did some tweaks to ae's styling, and it looks good on my end.
make sure to do a full refresh (usually ctrl+shift+r) to refresh the necessary files

at the request of aids you can now name your packs if you want to use the category in maps for something different

for consistency with "&userdata=", before that add in a "&name=YOUR NAME HERE"

Code: Select all

this is my super happy pack of maps
&name=super happy
&userdata=...

A very small suggestion would be to include this on the default "Add New Pack" page, please.

EDIT: As I've just found out, non-English characters break PACKS. Is this something that can be fixed? Maybe just auto-delete them from the text before they are uploaded.

Simple fix of making the text box only show the text one one line instead of broken like it is in the picture.

Image

And I would very much appreciate some text on the packs.droni.es page that mentions the "&name=" feature.
