I set out recently to record speedrun times for all episodes 00-99 and then calculate my total game time (by 1sec=40frames). This was a somewhat painstaking effort and it took me about a month to go through EVERY episode again but I did it. I'll share column times and total time.
Col.0: 22'02.775"
Col.1: 15'52.025"
Col.2: 17'11.250"
Col.3: 18'51.225"
Col.4: 17'16.775"
Col.5: 22'19.550"
Col.6: 14'53.100"
Col.7: 16'58.675"
Col.8: 35'25.225"
Col.9: 20'15.500"
Total: 03h21'06.100"

So column 8 is definitely a statistical outlier, as I expected it would be. It's also worth mentioning that (Actual playing time)/(Frame count time) was much higher for col.8 too. I also went through and used the 0th episode high scores to calculate the total fastest game time. As of Jan. 14, 2010, it is 02h12'59.900". Has anyone else tried or thought about doing this? I don't dare think about doing the 100-199 episodes again. blue-tetris columns still give me nightmares from my first run through.

I don't understand actually what did you do. You just played every 00-99 level with episodes, and then sum the frames? I think everyone from #n-highscores has a better times this way.
We were doing a funny contests, though: Try beating a column in 1 go to see how fast you can do it. We did 0-9, 10-19, 30-39 and 40-49 episodes. My personal bests are:
0-9: 36:36
10-19: 26:57
30-39: 46:35
40-49: 41:12
Those count also time for loading, death runs etc, so it's different from what you were doing.

When I originally thought of doing this I wanted to do it by that same kind of actual playing time "stopwatch" method. I suppose I could have done both at the same time! But honestly I became less interested in total playing time as I went along. By the end of the 20's column I had given it up completely. I would estimate that it took probably 12 hours or more total time.
