I am not going to lie. I am a fucking beast at this game. Way better than ping pong. :) Discuss or whatever.

Foosball, but okay. I had one of those mini-foosball tables as part of a 10-games-in-one table, you know the sort. Tiny pool table, table tennis table, etc. I haven't played in a good while though, and I didn't really play enough to keep tabs on my skill level or anything.

What is Google?

Fooseball isn't something I've ever put much effort into, we used to have one at home and my little sister used to constantly thrash me. I guess that might have put me off?

I read the title as Mooseball. I entered the topic. Depression ensued.

Your not suppose to spin the bars like that... noob. This game is about aim, not spinning the players in circles.

My only knowledge of foosball is from American television. I've never encountered it here in Australia, though I've never really looked.

I played it a lot. Well, it's not that hard to win someone at the game. You just need to have good reflexes and hit the ball hard.

That's how I win each time. I pretty good at it.

You can hit the ball hard without spinning the bars. Flailing you players is for people that don't know how to fully enjoy this game. If you get some good angle shots from the middle players going you are unstoppable.

I think you're mistaking common strategy for secret technique.

Correct.

Every time I've played, I've had a higher success rate, including against experienced players, by spinning the crap out of all my dudes.
Playing strategically is like using an algorithm that predicts the outcome of a coin toss with 40% accuracy; you'd do better to take the "dumb" approach and just guess.

It is not strategy you should use. It is skill. It is knowing where the ball needs to go (the goal), and getting it there. It is reflexes and practice not flailing. Sure you might get lucky and score a point on me, but you will never beat me if you just spin.

I beg to differ. Fooseball, like chess or cooking, is a game best won by filling the air with ammunition.

I like that Suki's main foosball strat is brute force. Truly another victory for the Sovs.

Also, as the ball starts moving toward my side of the table, I just start smashing my own dudes so that the debris blocks the ball.

I love, am good at, and play a lot of fooseball.
The game is definitely not about spinning the players and hitting the ball as hard as you can, especially because you have no control of the ball when playing like this. I play very steadily and focused, and my weak spot is not defense.

Yay! Finally a person I can talk to about fooseball. Fooseball tables have different organizations of people. Mine has 1 goaly, 2 defense, the middle number is always the same, 3 attack.

You never actually have "control" of the ball in foosball. It's like a large scale pong.

You are just wrong on this. Professionals usually have control of the ball as they pass it from player to player, and only loose control if the other player is good enough to mess up their jive.
It is nothing like ping pong.
