He died while I was writing an essay on The Catcher in the Rye. I now feel strangely guilty...
Maybe I should review the Twilight series...

Hahahahahhaha! Well you're at it, rewatch old footage of the San Diego Chargers and embrace Father Winter.Scrivener wrote:He died while I was writing an essay on The Catcher in the Rye. I now feel strangely guilty...

I was supposed to read Catcher last year, but never got around to it, but I don't feel guilty about it. I feel like I missed a good oppertunity.Scrivener wrote:He died while I was writing an essay on The Catcher in the Rye. I now feel strangely guilty...

It'll take you maybe three hours to read, and you won't have to endure incredulity and scorn from others for the rest of your life when you say you haven't read it. Also it's a decent book.bobaga_fett wrote:I was supposed to read Catcher last year, but never got around to it, but I don't feel guilty about it. Oh, I should say, as the maker of this thread, I've never read anything by him. Tried four times to start Catcher, never got much further then 100 pages in before losing interest and going on to something else. At various crossroads of my life, too. Like, twelve, sixteen, eighteen, nineteen. I'm more interested him as a shut-in eccentric. (Pynchon 4ever)

I've noticed that the people I meet who are most like Holden usually hate the shit out of Catcher.
