Hahaha, happy dance, Techno.

This is AWESOME though! This is one of the best TV shows that was around, so them bringing it back is just the best.

I actually saw the last movie recently, and was kinda depressed. Thanks to Slaps, I now know that there is hope for the universe and TV.

Bad news, everyone.

And a very worthy double post, I think.

I just heard about the recasting. What the hell is that about? If anyone has heard the cast members talk about the show, the all love it. I mean, to turn up to virtually every audio commentary shows good faith to me. I was stunned when I heard that. I think it's a scare tactic by FOX's part, but then again. I really hope that they all sign up, because the likes of John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice La Marche and Tress MacNeille are legends. NO WORDS FOR THIS DASTARDLY TURN OF EVENTS! NO WORDS.

Are you being ironic? Because if you're only getting the movie season now, you're extremely behind, and if you're getting the season that hasn't been made or voiced yet, you're slightly ahead.

Holycrapholycrapholycrapholycrapholycrap!!!!!

This is totally awesome!! Futurama is one of the best comedy shows around, way better than Family Guy, and not nearly as crude as South Park. Who needs crude humor when you have Futurama!

Might as well update everybody.

A theory was that this voice actor situation was a hoax. However, since the actors were not on the panel at Comic-Con, and Matt Groening hoped that FOX could make a deal with them soon, it seems we might actually be looking at new voice actors. :/

Bloody brilliant. It wouldn't be Futurama without the original cast.

IGN wrote:The wait is almost over, Futurama fans, as new episodes of the series are set to begin airing this summer. An announcement on the official Futurama Facebook page revealed the month we'll be seeing the return of Fry, Leela, Bender and the rest of the gang, stating, "Heads up, Futurama fans! All new episodes of Futurama begin this June on Comedy Central!" According to HitFix, Comedy Central says the premiere for the first new episode will be Thursday, June 24 at 10:00 p.m.

It was known that contractually, the new episodes of Futurama -- despite being ordered by Comedy Central -- could air first on one of the major networks, should a deal be made with producer 20th Century Fox to do so, but it now seems as though Comedy Central will indeed be the very first to show these new episodes.
Yay, I'm so excited, I hope these are much better than the one hour specials. I really did not enjoy those. No.

Merged to the original thread, posted back when this was news.

also, yeah, are you referring to the films? They are longer than an hour, in fact, four episodes in length, and while I was critical of the lot initially, I've rewatched the third three last weekend and I'm rather fond of all of them. Beast with a Billion Backs was fucked up, sure, but the jokes were great, and both Bender's Big Score and Bender's Game are fantastic entries. Didn't like Into the Wild Green Yonder when it was first released, so we'll see when I rewatch that.
