Hey.

We're going to be putting together a myriad of information for the end of the year. This includes Best Album of 2009, Best Album of the 2000's, Best Film of 2009, Best Film of the 2000's, and all the top ten lists in between, as voted on by you, the Metanet. What I'm going to need is a nominations team; people to submit their top thirty before November 15th. (Although your list can later be revised through PM as we reach the end of the year.

The quality of your choices are not that important, but being able to submit the lists asked for is:

30 Best Films of the 2000's.
30 Best Albums of the 2000's.
30 Best Tracks of the 2000's.
10 Best Films of 2009.
10 Best Albums of 2009.
5 Best Books of the 2000's.

Thanks.

Okay, after some reflection, I've changed the criteria for this project:

-Your submission may be involved in as few or as many lists as possible. If you don't read books, don't make a book list.
- Your submission must have a minimum of one media on it and a maximum of fifty. Have a favorite movie of this decade? Send it in in a PM. That's right; in order to encourage submissions, I'm not going to make anybody make a longer or shorter list than the want to. Placement on your list will be weighted the same. If you rate Children of men your favorite movie of the decade, it gets fifty points, straight up. If you make a full list of fifty films, the fiftieth film will get one measly point. So, there.
-Everybody who submits a list can, once again, change their list later, once fantastic mr. fox has come out.
-And everybody who submits a list for every option with at least ten unique options on it will be entered to win a free Metanet T-Shirt! How about that? :D

Do it!

30 albums? Apologies if I do like five ones I've actually heard any of and then bullshit my way through the rest of it. Also, 5 books for (almost) 10 years is way too few.

Does position on the list give more weight to a particular selection or are they all considered equal?

Position gives weight, unless special consideration is given.

Is there a possibility of extending the 30 best films category to 50 best films?

Frankly, if it's of the opinion of everybody that five books is not enough, we can raise the limit. My thinking was that, since a book is a much lengthier process than the other two, I've only read, maybe a hundred or so books this decade? And maybe ten or fifteen of them were from this decade. So, the pool is much more limited.

Your list has Star Wars 3 instead of The Prestige. Anyway, if the deadline's still the fifteenth, expect mine sometime. Probably on a weekend.

Can I make Wikipedia give me a list of all movies this decade, btw?

The way I did it is by going to each year's "200x in film", but the formatting isn't even consistent among those, so good luck.

That's what I did. Worked pretty well. So, as an update, have you gotten enough lists for this to work?

Oh, damn. I've been waiting 'til I can see Children of Men before doing this, but due to the postal strike over here, that could be a while.
Looks like I'll have to compile a list sans CoM in the meantime, then.

If this died, why don'tcha just post all the lists you did get so we can argue with each other. Eschew voting and nominating and whatnot.

(I no longer have my movies list; the only place in the world it may yet exist is your inbox. You are my only hope.)

flag's list. Others can ask for theirs. The reason this never moved forward was because I received ten lists total. That's across all groups. For instance, somebody hands in a book list and a movie list, that would be two lists. There were ten total.

1. 3:10 to Yuma
2. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
3. V for Vendetta
4. The Departed
5. The Prestige
6. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
