It's sounds the same and is mostly generic. :/
I disagree. :/

I think what it adds to the film is most important anyways, the music sequences were some of the best parts.

Well, that's definitely true, I love some of those sequences. But that's probably because they were relief from the non-sensical plot.

If Star Trek doesn't win for both Sound Editing and Sound Mixing, I think I might cry some manly tears.

I'm liking the film less the more I see it, especially now the 3-4 hour extended cut rumour has been dashed by Cameron himself. :(
Bigelow and Tarantino are miles ahead in direction. Certainly Bigelow could take this from Cameron easy.

I'm with r_t, Karen O was fantastic.
People write to me and say, "I’m giving up, you’re not talking to me." I just write them a simple message like, "Never give up," you know? And it changes their life

Carter Burtwell did a fair job with the score, though I wasn't a huge fan of Karen O's work on the movie (of course with some exceptions, notable the track "Hideaway"). I think if there was an award for best movie trailer, Where the Wild Things Are would win hands down.

I'm disappointed Meryl Streep didn't win for her performance in Julie & Julia. Also, I won't to add that I didn't see this film willingly, but that good acting is good acting whether it's in a chick flick or not.

Ohh, and it was cool to see Christopher Waltz win, he was awesome.

I was exceedingly happy about the way Jaff Bridges' hair looked.

Julie and Julia did some very awesome things from a structural standpoint, chick flick or no.

Having seen the first half of The Hurt Locker (waiting to watch the rest with my girl), if the film carries on at the same quality I can see exactly why it won. Avatar is a simple tech demo in comparison, imo.

I'm glad it won the best visuals though, it truly deserves that.

No kidding. Not to mention Avatars win for cinematography. Filming that movie must have been a real bitch with all of the equipment they had to use.

Just finished watching The Hurt Locker and I thought it was great. Slick, tense, well acted. Enjoyed it a lot.

I Still think Moon might be my favourite film of the year, though.
