I've been recently getting into the steampunk realm of literature, and I'm looking for some suggestions. Any good authors or titles you may know of are most welcome.

I didn't even know what steampunk was, so I Wiki'd it, and I sure can't believe alternate steam engine science fiction is a genre. Cool.

I wouldn't recommend Difference Engine, it's rather disjoined.
My top recommendations would be:
Leviathan by Scott Westerfield
The Affinity Bridge by George Mann
The Wake of the Dragon by Jaq D Hawkins
The Strange Affair of Springheeled Jack by Mark Hodder
The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers
Steampunk covers a wide spectrum so you have to didge the Romance and vampires to get to the good stuff.
