A short selection of m4xwell's maps, and the originals that he has unashamedly plagiarized. Bear in mind that this is merely a list of the ones I could find the originals for, and that there are plenty more that I am 100% certain are copied.

Also, in before he claims any of these are remakes/remixes/inspiration. They are NOT. Plain, barefaced plagiarism. Cheers.

I don't think it is that bad to recreate old maps. As a result we can touch the awesomeness of the past in nv2.0.
And i don't think that the original authors would be against this too. It would be better to ask for their permission but since it is impossible... well...

The name of the author and the original name of the map must be placed at the very beginning of the title though.
Maybe even the link to the numa original map.

Stolen maps on his NUMA profile, as well. I remember when that map was first made. It was a revelation. You could argue about entertaining the player being the be-all and end-all, but real people worked on these and they deserve some gat-damn recognition. Don't fucking plagiarize, please. It's dirty, it's disrespectful towards the creators, and it will never be fulfilling for you.

i guess some of these are since u Maxwell were first found out to have taken a numa map.. hey instead of just writing a confessing message on Nv2 userlevels after you got found out on here, why dont you go through your own maps and list all those not yours -because I think thats the only way that u can sort of redeem yourself

you know i didnt realise NUMA was so big, no wonder u guys stay on there (and tolerate n1.4 :P ) http://www.nmaps.net/226290

Or here: http://www.nmaps.net/231155

Firstly, if you want to play NUMA's history maps, old ones or even the new ones we are still making for N, is just as simple as downloading N v1.4 from Metanet's website or NReality here: http://n.infunity.com/ You don't really need to copy them, because this is not a recreation if not a pure copy, worse without even mentioning no one and taking the full credit and the recognition of those maps as author, from old and good mappers, even featured ones, stealing someone's intelectual property and take it as it were yours. That's just wrong.

Secondly, it's derisory, but in a really bad way. I can say that I played some of those maps anonymously before had seen this thread, specially this one here: http://www.thewayoftheninja.org/nv2.html?l=30564 (even has the same title, wow is incredible) and I thought it was a pretty interesting one, obviously I thought it was made by M4xwell because the map is completely published as a personal episodic map without saying anything respect to it, and since that, I could think that that guy had some nice mapping skills. But now, I can see the real M4xwell's ability to map, which is that one I was used to see, really far from the quality of some of these. It is really derisory how someone is trying to take attributions with maps, recognition, fame as a quality mapmaker, doing this kind of things. It is just wrong friend, and really painful.

Thirdly, that's just wrong, dude. Wait, I already said this, right?

I'm wondering why he's not copying well-known maps from the '07-'09 era?

Anyway, nice find kiaora, though.

What is really funny after all, is how that guy created for him some sort of a good place into the new N v2.0 mapping scene by only doing those sort of things and copying not only a single map if not a huge and a considerable amount of someone else's maps. I'm curious and pretty interested in what is that guy really able to make himself. And to make things worse, is now interesting to see how he was saying he was not in NUMA at all in this page here: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=6 ... 4&start=75 , or even as how he boasts and brags of "his own creations and new maps", how proud he is of this or that map, many of which are not even his, in the same thread of N v2.0 maps: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=9974 (you can browse the full thread and read some of his comments), and to end the matter and a round brooch, how he complained and scolded when someone had plagiarized some NUMA maps under the pseudonym of EddyMatoGallos, here: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=6 ... &start=125 this is probably loop the loop, and make his own attitude into something ironic and almost offensive.

No dude, simply NO.

I don't know if you can rename maps in N2.0, but if you can please add the old map numbers. It's okay to share old maps with new users, but it's not cool to pass them off as your own. Son, I am disappoint.

This is really sad to read. And I really don't know why have you been doing this because you didn't need that.

Btw. I remember that from some moment lot of M4xwells maps was more in v1.4/NUMA style (I wrote some words about difference in maps from mappers in v1.4 and in v2.0 before) and It seemed weird to me... And also how many complicated maps in short amount of time he can produce, but I just thought he has time for that. not like me :).

After all this plagiarism stuff I can't enjoy the game as much as before. When there's good new map and it has something from v1.4/NUMA style (could be called old-school maybe :D), I'm always suspicious. And I think I'm influenced by that style, too, so some of my maps must be also suspected and that's really annoing feeling.

And more interesting things is that it's a crime.

Panstromek, well luckily there arent that many players around who would do that, and those who would are usually the clueless noob types (its_taka_ raka, blacklef) -and u find them out because they make runs way poorer that u would expect

No words. Why M4xwell?

I played the most of your maps and most of other maps probably plagiarized,
because i dont' know the names of NUMA levels creator. And probably i play that map now.
Sad thing.

This editor is very good and funny in N2.0, now I find that almost all of the userlevel are impossible, or useless, or ugly, or plagiarized. -.-

hahahaha but there are still way more good maps in userlevels that i am able to play.

And MAXWELL what do you mean 'some' ffs, I said u should make a substantial apology thing to count like a man again, like going on a diet

He published this one as well http://www.nmaps.net/216440 but it has gone down in the ratings, so not visible. 25 page limit on everything (its in the bugs/recommendations section on here) and no, Aidera we're not able to edit maps at all (but thats to prevent players' runs which they wanted to be kept from being wiped out by the mapper, and for searching purposes when they remember the map name)

Can anyone tell me, how do I reset my password pleassse on N reality?? and on Numa it doesnt seem to give the option at all either.

And what exactly is the best thing to do to get rid of the lag? (it is lagging right, its not just the lack of smoothness?) -i remember hearing something to do with the graphics settings?

(spam because i posted the same thing in another thread)
-but you know, I just wanted to get through to some n1.4 players. Thanks dude, I did the display scaling and the sound thing as specified in that thread link you gave me http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=355 and I think its a tiny bit better, I just have to avoid maps with big jumps where the ninja moves fast. I guess nreality is not great with new microsoft windows.
I found that Mibem suggested decreasing color from true color to high. But to be honest I cant find that option on the Windows 8 which I have and hate lol (its such a mess etc).

What about the password thing though, am I blind or something ehm?

You are currently unable to change your NUMA/NReality password since nobody active has access to the email account used for it. My apologies. But here is something that might fix lag in Windows:

Hi,

Just read this Topic, not everything but i am very surprised and disappointed to hear about mxwell plagiarism. I wonder how many he did steel.

I remember the day he arrived and help him out with editing, I also saw he became better and better in creating. I liked to see another one making good levels.

Now I wonder how many do this. I can honestly say that I never stole a map, and if I was inspired by someone the title was : Inspired by....
I dear anyone to find a map of my how think he stolen and i wil refute this.

I hope my English is a little oke. I do m best with spelling check and google translate :)

I'm Surprised M4xwell quit mapping altogether it seems. I haven't seen any maps published like his first maps (his own I assume). If you read this, why don't u start mapping again, if you like N rather than just the popularity. You can even use a different name of course
