Administrative makeover

Some nonsense from Donfuy made me notice that I'm basically the only active administrator here, which is clearly a dangerous situation. I am therefore opening this topic for public comments on the state and staffing of this forum! It's not like we have anything better to talk about.

I noticed this a month ago, but I decided to say nothing about it since I didn't think it was important at the time.

However, you are right...that is a dangerous situation. Maybe, you could demote some of the old admins and hire some new ones?
I nomiate Pheidippides!

7 years of service. Is finally being an admin feasible for me? It means I can actually change my custom title that I've been waiting for for years. ^_^

forum modship is overdue for a makeover

i suggest a cull of the present list of single forum mods and move the inactive ones to cool guys, with the criterion being a single post in the last half year

the following will be eliminated: snugs, halifax, worm, skyline, smartalco, spoon, techno, turiski, r_t (seneschal is living dangerously close to cutoff)

this raises the question as to whether any mod promotions are necessary given how inactive these forums are even with the influx of new members from nv2, and whether said modship would really mean anything other than a status symbol. over to you

I love status symbols.

i don't care much for posts without capital letters however

I'm on the forums and NUMA daily, and it'd be nice to have a staff member who still plays the ninja game. Bump me up to admin.

Looks like we need a complete rehaul of moderators. Looking through the list now, some these people haven't visited the forums in over a year. Let's start with finding replacements for the positions of Skyline, smartalco, Turiski, and rocket_thumped.

The thing is, we don't need a heap of new admin or mods. The forum is very slow, and maybe just having ortsz and one other person should be enough. But if you really want some new mods, do it the old fashioned way and just pick some people. Let them have a go at it. Especially more of the relatively new people.

I check this thing daily and you all know me since... August 31st 2004 O_O

Do we really need that many mods for subforums?

Maybe assigning one mod to each forum cathegory would be a good idea. Or just eliminate the Moderator status and only have Global Moderators (as well as admins, of course).

I agree with moving all inactive moderators (and admins too?) to the Cool Guys status.

I like this idea, however not all global mods would browse all the subforums, so maybe have a single mod for all the N-related subs too.

By the way, if any forum staff makeover is needed, hit me up on Facebook or Gmail or anywhere, and I can do whatever's needed. Just let me know.

Well I've been a mod on there for a while now and am extremely active. If you actually want a replacement, just ask.
