http://www.metanetsoftware.com/blog/201 ... ase-mishap

i was not aware of this until recently, but i asked raigan if i can hand off the metanet server scrapes i have to attach users back to their maps
for ulterior motives i have every numa and metanet map up until i left my desktop behind which was late october
so if their server admin accepts, there is a solution in sight (for up until 2014 octoberish)

Hey Btoasterboy, hm in my opinion the title of this subsection 'userlevels' is a bit misleading because its general -there are other threads about the userlevels in the 'n2' subsection
The 'n Tower' was not built in a day. There were some remakes

Good catch. I don't know if Btoasterboy can fix that, but I know sidke can. I'll let him know.

moved what was obvious. if there's anything else you think should be moved over, let me know. i just opened up the userlevels subforum without trying to go through the existing topics, but i probably should have.

super apologies, i remoted into my home desktop today to find i had cleared my dev boxes when debugging virtualbox itself. i had anticipated numa going down for a prolonged period of time so i have nmaps backups but i never thought metanet servers would have issues so i must not have backed those up. this is super stupid of me and sorry to give false hope

in short:
i am unable to put the maps back to their authors

But the maps are there. I checked personally a big amount of them (specifically focusing on those which today are not listed anywere) by writing directly random urls, and apparently all are there, just that them disassociate themselves from their respective authors and listings, but the urls and respective maps of each url still exists. Not checked all the +120000 though, but as I said, a big amount and I didn't find randomly any missing. That's weird.
Perhaps you can start from there, making a backup of the data from the urls?
