Nooo, when there's a creek kind of thing on either side of the road but it's not big enough to merit a bridge. I don't know, it might just be a country thing.

Ha! When I read that, I thought "culvert" was some pejorative term for countryfolk, but now I'm disappointed to have read the real definition.

A fun derogatory term for countryfolk is whickerbill, which incidentally can also be interpreted as the foreskin of a penis.

You guys are weird. We just call them Underpasses here, since you, you know...pass under them.

No, you don't. Underpasses and culverts are entirely different things. Culverts are not designed for humans to pass through. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Isn't an underpass just the corrolary of an overpass?

I actually thought of the word culvert but I was pretty sure that I was wrong about the definition so I just described it :/

An old RAF base that had been turned into a youth hostel come construction ground for uni students to build 1:10s of the Gherkin and the Millau Viaduct.

Shit looked like the nuclear testing village. There were even large warning signs on the surrounding electric fences, and a pile of mannequins.

How have I never posted here? I've got heaps of these.

The strangest one to come to mind right now is the time I slept on the floor of a soap factory, wrapped up in an oily bed-sheet with two girls.

I also stayed in a culvert overnight. Didn't sleep in it, though.

Now I /did/ sleep in this huge-ass hole me and a friend dug in the wood behind my house. It even had a one-foot high wall of dirt around it and a roof made out of plywood panels.
