My physics teacher showed me this today. He actually has one!
Some recommended videos:
Legend of Zelda theme
Deleted scene from It Might Get Loud featuring an old Jimmy Page and a smoking Jack White
Star Trek theme (Yes, the wailing noise in the original is actually a Theremin)
This monstrosity
EDIT: Creep is a lot more interesting on theremin!

It's electronic, but it's damn awesome. It combines the Etch-A-Sketch with a midi synth, yet the images that you create actually register as notes. It looks awesome and you can do some pretty awesome whit with it.
On the theramin, it is really damn awesome. Just the fact that your physics teacher has one makes him/her that much more awesome.

I would say drums are the most fun to play and fool around on (though I'm a little biased, as drums were the instrument I picked up most naturally out of all the instruments I used to play). But I think in terms of sonic capabilities, the piano has it beat. Of course, you can customize drumsets an enormous number of ways, so there's that.Tommy wrote:Mine is the drumset.

Any idea when it was? I've got logs for the past few years on this computer, and god knows I spent enough time in the channel. It may be in there.smartalco wrote:I've seen a little flash thing like the theramin online somewhere ages ago, but I don't remember where. My guess would be somewhere between a year or two ago, but I'm not even sure if the thing was called a Theramin, so I'm not sure what you'd search for.squibbles wrote:Any idea when it was? The thing I'm thinking of was a grid of cells with an advancing time bar (like the Theramin), and each row was a different note. It was only like 10x10 though. This was on a site with a few other random audio-manipulation type things (mostly done as experiments I think), like I remember one that just output a continues sound wave where you could adjust the frequency, intensity, and shape (sine, square, saw-tooth type thing) of the wave.
