I could also edit in video of gameplay footage of nominated maps and highscores (and then put the footage on YouTube). Of course, this is assuming that a vote is ever conducted..
Is an awards show really fair if you're only choosing between two options? And I'm trying to do a lot of things at once right now. I'm not getting paid for this, so it's on the backburner. Same with the 2014 Dronies. Unless y'all can find a dependable person to run them, just be patient.

Also, the 2014 Dronies will be much easier because Google Forms has an option wherein users (i.e. all of you) can submit nominations and edit them later. (BUT, that option requires a Google account, so if you don't already have a Google account, get on that pls.) Once I whip up that form, we can get started on them. But right now the priority is the current one. Thanks for being patient.

Excellent. I'm proud of my output this year, and some of my favorite authors came outta the woodwork. Ready to get nomming.

2013 votes are done. Not sure why my name is on the author list because I hardly made a thing.

Cheers, mate. I'm assuming we're not allowed to vote for anything we directly had a hand in?

Also, I think it would be a wise idea to include the userlevels data of all the "run of the year" noms; this is mostly because the Metanet highscores are going to be the most accessible, as they neither require NReality, nor require NUMA to be viewed. The same cannot be said for speedruns and numa demos.

P.S. Do we need a new code for voting, or can we use the same one we used for nominating?

Thanks!

Vote for yourself. Use the same code. And if you will put all the demos in a pastebin I'll add it. That would be very nice of you.

Thanks, I'll try to get to it tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to extract the demo code from in-game NReality highscore/speedruns. Maybe someone else can help in that regard?

cool! Maybe you could also mention that triple clicking the text automatically highlights the entire demo! ;)

I also wish we had an MBD of the year... (Maybe that can be a category for 2014?) There have been some mind-blowing manually built demos this year, and it'd be a shame if there was no official recognition given to them. (Would be a good opportunity to expose them to the uninitiated.) This brings me to raif's "DDA": http://www.nmaps.net/229578. This is technically an MBD, and I don't think it's fair (or relevant) to have it in the DDA category. I think if you're going to include it on the voting page, you should at least include the userlevels data on the page, and express that it is a manually built demo. At any rate, it will be interesting to see how this polls, especially considering its uniqueness.

P.S. is anyone else having trouble getting this hrdda to work? I keep getting killed. (I seem to remember this when trying to nominate and it happening... some demos are broken, too.)

P.S.S can you please pm me a new code? I can't find the old one in my inbox; it was probably deleted.

P.S.S.S what happened to "map pack of the year"? :/

  1. Done.
  2. If my wonderful highscoring community comes together and tells me which categories it would like, then I will make them.
  3. It was nominated in the DDA category, and I think it fits. As I've said over and over, I didn't get enough nominations.
  4. Repercussion works for me, using the latest NReality. So...
  5. I had one person nominate. No reason to keep that category this year, with five whole mappacks.

I was pretty bummed but Google Forms doesn't have a redirect option. Sacrifices must be made.

Weird re that DDA glitch. It's now working in both userlevels and NED on NReality now, and it seems to have also happened to RandomDigits at one point. Perhaps it's a collision detection bug? At any rate, playing in NED seemed to fix it for me, just in case anyone else has a problem with it.

Congratulations to all the winners! Here's to hoping the 2014 Dronies are more participatory. sidke and I made an interactive version which will go live in a few days. (sidke made most of it, I just typed some stuff.) Optimistically, I'd like to add all the previous winners for each year, but it'll be a task. Maybe we can organize something to help with that.

PS: If any links are incorrect pls lemme know.

woah the community did not recognise sidke

this is like that old episode of the simpsons where no-one votes for bart as class president because they all assume he's going to win anyway so instead martin wins

aidiera is martin

I'm not familiar with that episode, even though my life seems to have plagiarized it. PS to be fair, sidke was absent for most of 2013. 2014 was definitely sidke's year though.

I just watched the entire video... really good stuff, Aidiera.

I, too, hope that '14 has more participants voting. I think we should strive to get 50 voters (to, at the very least, participate in voting for at least some of the options.) I guess the first step is making sure people get to nominating, and that includes myself.
