I see no reason for your last name to be difficult to pronounce/spell.
You would think so... everyone thinks so, but probably 95% of people say it wrong the first time. I also hate my first name, people always think I say "Jerry". I'm like no, jarED, and they're like Jerry? Oh ok, nice to meet you Jerry, and I'm like god damnit you freaking idiot, jarEEDDD, and they're like, "OK see ya later Jerry". But enough about my name.

I think "Time is running out" is my favorite so far.. Assassin is going to be a tough one on expert =p Probably not for you though, haha.

MUSE FANS UNITE!!! Yah, Time is Running out is one of my favorites too, but the live version of Knights of Cydonia rocks compared to the recording. And Stockholm Syndrome is cool too.

You know, I've noticed that only about 2 or 3 people (I think it was Izzy, incluye, and Eiturlyf) that actually noticed that my last name is "Lim". :P

Anyways, not really seeing very many new faces yet. hmmm.

Anyways, (again), I was kinda wondering about the ethnical makeup of the community. sometimes I wonder if there are any other Asians out there. (now I know there are but...) I just wonder sometimes about who exactly I talk with, and stuff like that.

Why does it matter? You shouldn't be selective of who you talk to based on race.

And for your information, I'm Asian.

ehemm. just for the record (since my name is being thrown around), I like Muse too, but it has no comparison to my love of DCFC (and all of Ben Gibbard's affiliates). other current band are The Bravery, The Kaiser Chiefs, Alkaline Trio, and Hard-Fi.

atob, keep making music.
and can you post the lyrics? I like to know just what I'm singing along to. :)

EDIT: hey TFK, I'm thinking of making a DCFC mappack. want in?

Name: Oliver
Age: 17
Home: NYC
Interests: Right now I'm going through the whole college applications thing, so that combined with school is taking up most of my time. In school I'm taking advanced physics, Calc BC, Linear Algebra, Shakespeare, existentialism, and Spanish Cinema. Outside of school I enjoy playing magic cards with my friends, working on my Warhammer 40k models or legos, (although I find that difficult during th school year.) playing computer games, (I was just failing at the final boss in cave story) and watching TV. I am a natural procrastinator and probably do the least work of anyone in my grade. However, I manage to do pretty well anyway, so no harm done. At least until I get to college. which apparently shouldn't be as hard as my high school which is considered to be especially hard. And is actually the oldest still running educational institution in the United States, i kid you not. Our rich tradition includes classrooms which look as though they haven't been repaired since 1945, but we manage to brighten them up with our exuberant spirits. Anyway, am also co head of my school's Asian Cultural Society, and captain of the Science Olympiad Team, so in case you hadn't already guessed, I am a complete geek. I'm a very amiable person though, and I make friends easily, so everyone at school knows and generally respects me. It helps that I am confident with my own geekiness. I mean, I own that binary t-shirt. You know, the one that says, "There are only 10 types of people in the world..."

Plans: I don't really have any. I intend to go to a liberal arts college and study whatever interests me until I find something that I really enjoy. Possibly in the area of science and engineering. Although I like the humanities as well, so I'm not really sure. I used to think I was a science person, but I think I'm more of a jack-of-all trades, doomed to try and fail at everything. But hopefully not.

Other: I'm not sure what I'm even doing here since I hardly play N anymore. In fact, I've only played N once in the past like, four months. I even have a half finished level pack sitting on my hard drive, but I've barely gotten anything done on that since last year...I suppose I just enjoy reading what you'll have to say. It's a hell of a lot more rational than most of the crap I read online. Hopefully this rambling post is as meaningful as I intended it to be. I hope no too serious though. This is the internet after all. now I must make a signature with this cute dog in it:

so, Kaiser Chiefs > Hard-Fi, right? I must disagree, Hard-Fi's "Once Upon a Time in the West" is chock full of 5-star songs (Suburban Knights, I Shall Overcome, Little Angel, just to name a few).

and you should listen to Death Cab, just because. :)

What I like: I have an obsession with the word bob for one thing. And I like to quote things because I love to read. I enjoy viudeo games often, but I am swarmed with homework so I don't get much time. I enjoy N when it doesn't piss me off. And I love learning about history. I joined this community because, well, I have nothing better to do. And it's easier making friends here that in the real world because I can be quite anti-social. Most of my friends at school I made through harsh skepticism leading to epipanies about them.
Plans for Uni: Originally leaning towards architecture, but the idea of sitting on my ass all day does not appeal to me. Currently it's architecture vs. history

OK, lots of replies. Appologies for not replying a week ago before I left, but my internet dropped out just before I could post my finished reply. So here's that reply, and I'll get to the newer ones as soon as I can.
David wrote:Ah, should've elaborated. Art as in the study and enjoyment of it. I have a case full of art books and jump at the chance to go to a museum.
Ah, right. So looking rather than doing - something I'm not too good at. :D
David wrote: Oh, it's great. I can explore my interests and learn at my own pace. I wouldn't be nearly as eloquent or opinionated if I'd gone to school.
That's true - school provides very little chance to say your opinion. And learning at your own pace is much more helpful. I can image that one-on-one teaching is much better for that, because in a classroom you need to keep moving while not everyone understands things.
Also, as to writing: Cool. It's still good to write once in a while. Again, if you're ever wanting feedback, I'm happy to help.

Constantine wrote:What I Like: computer science & programming, debate, arguing about ambiguous topics (different from 'debate'), tabletop gaming, video gaming, asskicking
Yay, more programming and computer science. Perhaps you can help me when I go off to Uni. :D

Witty wrote:I swear alot. I hate school.
Oh, why? To both - really curious, especially to school, because at my school the main reason why people don't like it is it's all boys.
Witty wrote:Plans for university:Music, I love music, I always have, I write my own songs, I have the leading song writing program (finale), I play piano alot in my free time, and guitar when my girlfriend is round (she loves it).
Awesome! Glad to see someone else wants to head to Uni with music. I'd love to hear your songs, if you have recordings of them. Also, how's Finale? I've never used it - I use Sibelius at school and "Harmony Assistant" at home, which is believe is quite similar to Finale but I'm not sure.
And yeah, Guitar's a reasonably popular instrument.
Also, might want to watch out for your temper. It can be good to be argumentative, but just make sure you don't do anything that could get you into trouble.

Wedgie wrote:I couldn't possibly list them all. I play guitar, drums, piano and I love music in general.
You do? Awesome. I never knew that. :D
Nice interest range - interesting to see that cars is an interest, because I have no clue with them. Could you elaborate on the 2:1 for Uni, because while I figure it's good, I'm not sure what it means.

Hi I'm Nathan. I'm 16, I enjoy long walks on the beach with a romantic candle-lit dinner to follow. I'm a down to earth guy and uh.. I'm no good at writing these.

I live in Brisbane, go to highschool, currently in year 11 and would love to meet that special person to fulfill the year.
I enjoy screwing with web languages, making things, going out with friends, drinking and all that fun stuff.

So drop me a line if you're insterested. ;)
