The new Doctor looks downright scary.

Anywho (erm), I see what you're saying, and I agree, just for a different reason. I think it's best he leave b/c the writing's in a neverending death spiral right now, and I don't want him dragged down.

I plan to follow Tennant wherever he goes, unless it's British theater, which I can't stand much.

Did you guys watch the waters of Mars? A substitute teacher showed us that in class, it was pretty good. I also agree David Tennant was the best doctor.

Orange- N cannot be spoken, or even thought about in my household. If my parents ever found out that I have played N since the cleansing, my life would be ruined. I keep the game in a multi-passworded .rar on a USB flash drive inside a locked boron alloy container that requires two keys to open (I keep one under the 64th hammer in my piano, and the other one in a small section of removable ceiling in the corner of the attic) hidden in a wall compartment lined with aluminium foil to prevent sonar detection behind my 375 kg cupboard, which is bolted to the floor - the only way to reach it is to abseil outside the fourth floor window and use a screwdriver to unfasten the screws holding the secret brick in place on the opposite side of the wall, but the screwdriver must be a specific type like the one I own, since if any other screwdriver comes into contact with the screws, the entire building will explode, as will a seperate charge placed inside the boron alloy container, rendering the USB useless. Even once the container is retrieved, attemping to open it without the arming pin in place (which is kept inside the battery compartment of my Maglite) will cause the water reservoirs lining the container to burst and react with the caesium lining, causing the container to burst into flames - the only way to prevent this is to use the arming pins to shut off the reservoirs with a sliding steel door. The USB itself contains an accelerometer linked to an explosive charge, meaning that if the USB detects its own movement speed as being greater than 5 cm/s, it will explode - any person attempting to steal it would have to move at a uselessly slow speed. Once plugged into a computer, the USB will upload a ghost virus onto it, leaving no traces. Only the right password can deactivate this virus, and if it is left on the computer for more than six hours, it will format all drives.

As you can see, I take my N playing very seriously.

Guiseppi- I'd much rather watch animals get boned in the ass.

Yanni- If it's glad, it's not rape.

Tsukatu- I refuse to use throw-away bags for such a frequent purpose as buying groceries. Instead, I've collected the hair of my two pet dogs and have woven them together into an all-natural, 100% environmentally friendly bag that I bring with me everywhere. And when I buy products that come in glass and plastic containers, I track down the company that packages them and ship back their containers so that they don't take up space in landfills.

Yeah, I use plastic.

It doesn't have to be anything. I'm curious if this is the general consensus, like, among Doctor Who fans. Cuz I used to belong to a forum that hated him.

I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan, but I wouldn't dream of missing an episode, if I could avoid missing one. One thing that strikes me about the new series is how the finales never seem to be as good as most of the other episodes.
Anyway, what do people think about Russell T. Davies' exit as head writer from the series?

I see. I can only imagine that's because he's not a traditional Doctor... he brought badly-needed humor to the BBC.

I'd be careful there, flag... Sylvester McCoy (the Seventh Doctor) tried that approach. Except, the humour wasn't as well recieved, and the show got axed.

I guess that's why people love the movie so much - it opens with him being shot. =P

Anywho... I wouldn't say David Tennant was the best Doctor. I'm more of a fan of Tom Baker, personally - if only due to K9 and the Jelly Babies (and not the fact that I look similar to him...). And one thing that really annoyed me about the new series was that it started with Christopher Eccleston. What the hell happened to Paul McGann? He was brilliant in the film - why wasn't he the Doctor for the new series (if someone can give me a good explanation as to why, I'll shut up). I mean it's left us with this gapping hole with the Time War, which sounds awesome, all the Time Lords gone, and a re-generation.

The Time War... The one thing that annoys me about this is the Daleks. IF THEY WERE ALL DEAD, WHY DO THEY KEEP COMING BACK. I mean, come on. How many episodes have we had with Daleks in. More than enough, if they're all dead...

Don't get me wrong - I'm a big fan of the series. Just some of the things bug me.

I guess it must be the writing (I haven't really thought about it that much... But I would suspect it really is a writing fault).

Edit: Can a Mod edit this post, to get that Quote sorted out? I keep trying, but it's doing nothing. Yeah. ~Slaw

This is one of my gripes as well. Remember what I said about the Daleks? Well...

All the Time Lords are dead.

Oh! The Master's back!

He's dead.

Oh! He's back again!

I've long since given up working out the plot discrepancies, even in each individual episode. I now only watch for David Tennant.

I love Doctor Who. David Tennant is an amazing Doctor, and I'll be sad to see him go. Oh, and about the Daleks, let me say one thing: Emergency Temperal Shift. That's how they are still about. They use one of the cheapest escape methods.

Oh, and with the new special: It was pretty epic, but I have one major problem with it. Is it just me or does The Master now remind anyone else of The Sith? I mean, how in hell did he suddenly get the ability to shoot lightning from his hands?

Last episode = Excessively cheesy, especially the last half-hour. The four knocks thing was done rather well, but I wish they wouldn't keep filling the seasons finales with relentless sentimentality. Hopefully the new head writer will do something different with the last 20 minutes of each series.

Also, the trailer for the next series looks cool. Steven Moffat was behind some of the best episodes of the recent series (the one with the statues, the gas-mask one, the Marie Antoinette episode and the two-parter in the library), so I reckon he should do a good job as head writer for series 5.

Erm, tbh I'm not optimistic at all to the future of the series. David Tennant was already pulling the producers out of a quagmire of lousy finale plotting, so the only way Matt Smith can make things better is if he inspires the series to change direction.

Or if he uses his sonic screwdriver!

I agree. Tennant has had the show on his shoulders for years now, and a change in writers can only do so much. I haven't seen the second half of Tennant's final episode yet, so I won't judge, but I just don't see how it can be good. It's such a shame Moffat and Tennant have barely lined up.
