By pressing fn delete you can get tiles, but how do you get objects?! There is no num lock button so I am very confused.

What you need help with is buying a durable and efficient laptop.

But anyways, you can't add objects with a Mac Book Pro unless you get a keyboard remapper.

I'm not sure why everybody here is being a dick about the Macbook Pro. It's a fantastic machine for parts/cost.

From what I've read, the iPod seems to trump it still. Anything specific I should be aware of (seeing as I will be buying an MP3 player with my xmas dollar very soon...)?

Well, I don't know if you purchase music, but if you do, the Zune Pass is amazing! Fifteen dollars a month, you can download as much music as you want, and you get to keep ten songs at the end of each month! So, you're basically paying five dollars a month for a perfectly legal wide-ranged good-download-speed unlimited music, plus you're buying ten songs a month. Which is very cool.

It can output video in HD, if you go for the High End Zune HD.

I don't know how good your computer is, but the Zune Software looks really pretty if you have a decent one.

It has a built in "Find Album Information" that works even if you didn't import the album with their software.

Mine is virtually unbreakable. I got it soaking wet at the Vans Warped Tour last year, and moshed with it on, battering it. After it dried off, it works flawlessly.

The price is usually a bit better.

That's all I got.

How does the Zune software compare to iTunes?

Thread hijacked, evidentally.

In what respect? It looks better and has some unique features, but it's presentation is different (and not necessarily better) than iTunes. Whereas iTunes presents your music in a list format, this focuses on icons made up by the album art (although a list format is available, which has all of the same features as iTunes. (If not more.)

It also has Smart DJ, which makes playlists for you by shuffling your songs in a way that it finds musically entertaining, and it usually is, although it is sometimes too reliant on certain songs. And if you have a Zune Pass, it will mix in tracks you don't have into your Smart DJ, which is insanely cool.

"fn+delete" will give you tiles, but I prefer using "fn+." because:
"fn+m" will give you objects. ( "." is closer to "m" than the delete key)

Aah, but my norml mp3 player that cost $35 for 4 gig is just as good as your ipod. (well, as long as you don't mind imperfect software.) but I can work around that.

And that an iPod that is decent would have 20 times that capacity.

Hey bro, ever hear of an external hard drive?
Who the hell can fill up their mp3 player with 80 gig? I'm only at 367 songs and have only taken up 1.5 gigs.
Just delete the songs you never listen to

I have never heard of an external hard-drive that works with an mp3 player.

And I have 140GB of music, of which I have reduced to 80GB that I listen to regularly. Try not to be so presumptuous.

The product does fit you.

Just buying a frickin' mp3 player and good headphones and it's cheaper than yours.
And deleting songs you don't listen to to clear up space is something everyone should do.
You know how many high-quality mp3 files 4 gigs holds?
Quite a few.
