I'd love to go to an event, but New Zealand doesn't even get one. Not one. It's crap.

Well, I downloaded and patched a copy of Pokemon White today and started playing it on my Acekard2i. No major snags because of my inability to read Japanese yet but that's probably because the overall flow of the games is similar. I have got a few devices that I'm not sure what they do. I'll post back later.

Nintendo of America have sent out C&D letters to two major fansites, Serebii and Pokebeach (If you haven't noticed already) and have ordered them to remove ALL image content from the games from their sites. After a couple days research it was found to be linked to the information that Melkor leaked which included the silhouettes of official artwork and the sprites too.

The sales of the game in Japan have been astounding.

Well, I've got the fifth badge today (it seems to take a lot longer when you don't speak the language). The graphics are much improved and some of the cities are quite impressive. The gameplay doesn't seem to have really taken advantage of them yet, though, and many of the puzzles are freakishly easy even by Pokemon standards. So far, I'm really liking the new pokemon. There don't seem to be any really silly ones like Probopass and I really, really, really like how you can only find new pokemon until you beat the Elite 4. It is so nice not to be fighting Zubats for the umpteenth time!

Gosh, the game seems so great. No wonder the sales have been so great.

Rockin' White. Beat E4 yesterday. Single-monning the rest of the game with SD-Haxorus. No Celebi event in Australia, and I missed the event GSC trio, so no Zorua / Zoroark for me. Did get a Victini, though. I didn't bother resetting for stats, so I'm stuck with an IV 1 spA, making it nowhere near as effective as it should be.

almost a year later and another thread mini-revival

Smogon got a new pokemon server - link - which I can actually use, so if anyone wants to battle just hit me up

Also Black 2 and White 2 are coming out in the West in October; unlike previous 'third' installments (yellow/crystal/emerald/platinum) they're essentially different games just set in the same world (i.e. they have very different storylines rather than just expanded ones, plus there are new areas and stuff).

This is incredibly exciting. The web version is fantastically well-done and I'm so pleased that it's not Flash. A+

Anybody here still follow up with Pokemon these days with XY and/or ORAS? I got back into Pokemon when I picked up X when it was released and started doing competitive team building, battling, etc.

I play 6th gen still. Play competitiveely but unfortunately haven't been on much due to a lack of motivation towards it, which is a shame as a few good events are being held down here in Melbourne. Would love a game if you're interested though.

I'm actually on Pokemon Showdown a lot nowadays. I consider it to be the best way to play Pokemon over the internet.
