I think honesty about the product should make any sale legal.
Do you figure starving people would stop eating if they were frankly told the risks involved in eating a potato treated this way? Let's hope they're not too hungry to share in the pasty, white, priveleged concern about free radicals in their cells.
Remember those "tomato virus" panics and that "don't eat lettuce" hysteria? GM foods are a weaker, slower media scare. When nothing is wrong with your kids or your government, expect an attack on the fine people who have the thankless job of feeding poor people with poor foods.

Hah, I doubt it, though in Zambia they rejected GM corn aid due to unrelated reasons (gov't was worried people would plant it, and Zambian crop would then be illegal in the EU.
