Ultimately, proof that the XBOX Live community is not as infallible as people in the Console Wars threads seem to make it sound.

XBOX Live is an excellent service, I never said the people weren't dicks (in fact, probably 1 in every 5 games I play online, I end up being more entertained by the sheer stupidity of the people playing than by the game)

If you go on a lot of servers for Steam games, there are rules for content. Now, there's nothing illegal about letting someone say "faggot" on your server, but if you are responsible for the content and are trying to get users/donators for your server, that could hurt your business.

Incidentally, Microsoft have said that this only applies to profile information, which only makes it more bizarre. You're free to join a game and go into an explicit description of shoving your huge, pulsating rooster into Bob's donkey - or just to yell "BUTTSEX LOLOLOL" - but God forbid that anyone's profile should say that they're gay, 'cause that's sexual content which will Destroy Family Values. Or something.

I don't see a problem with saying you're a lesbian to the public. It's nothing to be ashamed of, and it's definitely nothing wrong.
