Which one's better? PS3, 360 or Wii?

The Dreamcast was awesome yes, but was it too far ahead of its time? Was it released too long before the PS2? If they hadn't released it as early maybe it would have had a better chance. But against that you could say the same about Microsoft and the Xbox 360, but that became very successful.

Perhaps. It might have given more fight against the PS2. But I think it was the marketing that killed it off. The fact that SEGA was blowing off people by repeatedly selling new hardware (Mega CD, Saturn, 32X), by the time they sold the Dreamcast, nobody trusted them. So when the PS2 was rumoured, anybody who was interested went straight away. It made strong sales to begin with, and was very well recieved, but they got practically no sales around Christmas time, despite a shortage of PS2s...

Had they never released the CD, 32X or the Saturn, and just jumped straight to Dreamcast, maybe there'd be a forth (or fifth, counting PC) competitor in today's console "war"...

I hope this hasn't already been said, otherwise I'm fucked. I can't be arsed to read the topic. I do admittedly own an XBOX 360, PS3 and Wii though. They're all good in there own ways. Also, Xbox community is better because the PS3's is free and all kinds of crackheads can get in. All three are good, but I barely ever play any of them, because I'm too busy with music.

Every console is good for the reason you buy it for. If you've made enough of a decision to choose a console, you've already got an undeniable point of view. Either way, no amount of bickering is going to lead to anyone trading in games consoles or changing a thing.

Unfortunatly, this thread won't die. The community is ever growing, and some new members will inevitably post their views. They, of course, probably won't read any of the rest of the thread, but meh. As long as their is more and more people, there are more and more points of view.

For anyone who voted PC: I don't ask that you read seven pages of posts, but at the very least, read the topic title, maybe? The PC is the superior machine. It's also the most expensive, it's missing a lot of key titles, it doesn't have the same guaranteed standards of a console title, and it is susceptible to virii, spam, and adware. No... the pc isn't included in this thread because the title of the thread lists only three options. The pc isn't one of them. It has nothing to do with what parts of the pc are where. The pc and xbox, for instance, are very different machines.

They are different mediums, and upgrade at different rates. No matter how you argue it, the PC will always win, because it is constantly being upgraded, while consoles are only upgraded about every 5 years. Which is another reason why the PC shouldn't be argued for; it will not lose.

Only in terms of what's technically more powerful (the highest end possible PC at the time VS whatever..). However, the topic of debate is 'Which one's better?' and 'better' covers much more than that (console specific aspects, console exclusive titles, etc..), so if we did include the PC you could still argue with all validity that the Wii is superior to it if that's your preference.

Well, that, and the fact that it was mostly Sega's asshole marketing that perpetuated the war, and this same asshole marketing made them go from a four million dollar corporation contending for top spot in the console world to software developer in five years.

Wow, this is still going? Huh.

I like the 360 because, in my opinion, there are a lager selection of good games for it, whereas the PS3 has a somewhat small collection of kickass games, and the Wii a shitload of crappy games. With some gems here and there.

And with the new updates that are coming for the X360 (Facebook, Twitter) it's catching up to the PS3 in terms of versatility. But the PS3 has a blu-ray player, so... Hmm.
