I smoke on occasion, and i dont see it as particularly harmful. we get a lot of smoke in our room from the steps outside though, which isn't too nice.

Having tobacco legal is like giving someone a knife so they can stab themselves several times until the 'finally' die of blood loss or organ damage..
Which personally just sums up how I feel about smoking

The government owns printed money. If the government can't enforce that its printed money isn't destroyed, then it will stop printing money. People would be back to bartering. As a nation, we're all better off that the government makes trade extremely simple, cheap, and convenient for us to do. All we must do is not destroy the dollar bills and coinage that the government prints to help us keep track of our worth. Is that so much to ask?

I have never smoked a cigarette and I never plan on doing so.

That isn't to say I don't smoke. When I do it's usually flavoured tobacco out of a hookah.

@Yanni: Anything added to tobacco is probably more harmful that straight tobacco. I'm not entirely sure but I don't think smoking out of a hookah with shisha or flavoured tobacco for an hour is as harmful as smoking a pack of cigarettes.

Smoking is peoples' personal opinion, just like sex.

And it becomes a habit if you do it too much. Just like sex.

Tunco, if you do anything too much, it will become a revolting habit. I tried smoking some rolled up looseleaf in middle school in a field with some friends one day. and we all know that looseleaf has bleach in it. needless to say, it tasted fucking awesome.

over this past summer my boss gave me the freedom to fuck around with fire. my job consisted of yard work, so I was given access to a garage full of tools, wires, vehicles, and of course, gasoline by the barrel. I learned how to light fires without using a lighter repeatedly; roll some paper towels to make a "cigar", a viola, instant torch. This lead to me to take a couple puffs of the cigar. It was radical. there's nothing like burning bits of shit going down your throat.

My work experience yielded something similar, except that instead of access to fire and lots of flammable material, I was given root on a government supercomputer.

Surprisingly, there was extremely little bureaucracy involved. The gist of it was that the two-man administrative team for the thing had their hands full and needed some extra help, and they actually ended up coming to me.

-NOT a direct response to the above quote!
Looking at it realistically, just smoking every now and then, like at these 'social meetings' that have been mentioned before, has the potential to turn into a pack a day habit

On the other hand,theoretically,
smoking every now and then, like at these 'social meetings' that have been mentioned before
having a short or long term health "hazard",depends on how often and how much you go to the 'meetings' and how much you smoke when your there+ how much second hand smoke you are exposed to...
