My point is, I don't feel protected, as I don't believe in God.

Just look at this:

If I was born in Saudi Arabia, there's 95% percent of chance that I will be muslim.
However, If I was born in Israel, the largest posibility is that I will be Jew.

etc.

Is that fair? If Islam is the real religion to pick, does that mean that most of people in heaven will be from southwestern Asia, and part of Balkan?

etc.

Is that fair?

Most of people are the same religion as their parents.

I'm atheist. I don't hold any particular hate for organized religion aside from:

whoa for a second I though you were Gil Grissom. The 'idea' of telling people: "sneezing is a sin and therefore you are going to hell!" does not work for me. The existence of God/gods is plausible; back in the days when Jesus was around (or when he wasn't around) people didn't understand evolution as much as we do today. It is likely that they adopted omnipotent gods to explain why things are the way they are because of their igonorance of science. Maybe (like whoever said it, I forgot who)

I am Christian, but as Obby would know, I ain't Catholic. That's probably why I'm loose on the concept of going to church constantly and asking God to forgive me. like TheRealOne said, following rules of a religon that tell me how I should live does not cut it for me. And sure that may sound Satanistic and Nietzchean (hope I spelt it right) but I try to live life without worrying about whether I go to heaven or hell -- cuz nonetheless it's an afterlife.

Ah. Okay. Interesting. Here's something new to add to the equation, then (because it's obvious that you couldn't know this already, otherwise you wouldn't say something so silly):
Heaven is a place of happiness and cheer, but Hell is a place of eternal suffering and torment.
*nod* I bet you felt silly for a moment, there! Don't worry, not everyone knows that Heaven and Hell are actually meaningfully different like that.

(I try to eat whatever comes my way without worrying whether it's safe for human consumption or not -- cuz nonetheless my stomach will be full. Broccoli or asbestos, walnuts or polonium - makes no difference to me.)

I personally am a christian trying to live my life for Christ. There's the father, the son (jesus), and the holy spirit (the Trinity). There's a book called "It Couldn't Just Happen" and it shows proof that God made the universe and that it couldn't just happen. First you get knowledge from God then you get understanding, and then you get wisdom (the Bible says it all).

Of course I didn't ban him.
I just wanted a more emphatic way of pointing out that the question was not "what manner of stupid crap do you believe" but "do you believe in God(s)?"
Saying things like, "I believe in reincarnation," "I believe in the interconnectedness of things," and "N is my religion" are not answering the question.

Also, Zelda, I can't ban people from threads, only from the forums entirely.
...or at the very least I don't think or expect that I can. phpBB3 has a few wacky differences from IPB (back at the forumer.com address) in terms of what management can do that I haven't fully checked out yet.

But rest assured that a number of Gods are banned from my mind. And they'll all be Blizzy-banned once Allah acts like a man and stops dicking around with proxies. That bastard.

Funny.. I got banned for less than that last time :D

But seriously, I'm a Christian. But I can also accept why people may be skeptical of this religion specifically.
Personally, the bible claims that Jesus Christ was a man on earth approximately 2000 years ago. The one thing that bugs me is for something that supposedly occurred relatively recently, why do we have such little information about it, scientifically speaking anyway.. Why are we supposed to have faith in this man's existence when he was there for everybody to see? This confuses me more than anything but the way I see it, the 'good news' managed to spread throughout the world and those who refused to believe or did not get to see for themselves refused to spread the news ors something. Yeah. HELP ME TWISTKILL!!

I believe in Humankind's inherent fear of the unknown and our desire to place ourselves as the absolute pinnacle of evolution/creation.

Do I think that's worth worshipping? No.
