I dunno. The gay lifestyle does look a bit appealing, but it's so inaccessible because society makes it look bad and has laws against it. If it becomes legal, it might be worth looking into a gay marriage.

A great deal of the modern bible is known to be inaccurate to the original inspired text; it's very possible that some monk down the way (or more likely a series of monks, each with small changes) has modified the verse to clarify it, that clarification being in opposition to the verse's original intent.

That only applies to official political banners, not to random jackasses who can put a piece of posterboard on a stick and take the time to put it somewhere visible. Even disregarding that, though, would it be illegal for you to take down thirty signs that I put on the highway on-ramp that say nothing but "hang niggers"?
...not to mention said friends of mind have exercised their freedom of speech all over those signs.

After reading through the bible concerning such passages, I'm pretty sure that the bible bans anything sexual not intended to make a child, homosexual sex just being one of the ones listed.

Um, he has the same right to remove a sign as the person that put it there has to put it there, sans government intervention. If they weren't paying for the ad space (and they likely weren't), it's as much an act of speech to remove the sign as to place it.

Gay people make better clothes.
Gay people are hyper-social beings. I have a friend who's gay, and believe me, he's the most social friend I have. Gay people are less serious, they laugh easier, are more generous,...)
This isn't ofcourse for all the gay people, but certainly for quite a big part of them.

Or think of it this way: let's say that somehow you end up being morbidly obese, and you end up meeting someone who sympathizes with you and loves you anyway. You two want to get married. But you can't, because there's a bunch of jackasses out there that have never met you and don't live anywhere near you, but are extremely invested in keeping people like you (a fatass) from getting married, and all for something so arbitrary. And it's not like you're planning on porking on these people's porches or anything. You'll keep to yourselves just like any other married couple. I'm actually suprised at the level of ignorance on these boards, not just the minority who 'aren't okay with gays' but as Tsukatu says, the way in which they are being discussed as separate to regular society. Not suprised with Evil Sire though, his intolerance is pretty in line with how he generally presents himself.

Have you endured a conversation with regular society? They're not jolly-big fans of gays. Much of them don't really like the thought of gays getting into their homes or eating their food when they're out camping. A few of them figure gays are just Muslims who aren't brown.

I think we communicate on a higher level than society at large.

I suppose I'm used to "the gays" often being considered a sort of group conciousness, not necessarily one that consists of humans. I really don't find it offensive though - I'm impressed at the number of people here who said they're ok with it. Of course, I dot htink these forums are majority liberal.

It's difficult to generalize 'gays'. I balme this on the Gay Pride Movement, which I think is severely impairing the rise of equality for sexual minorities all around the world. "gay pride parades,]" in particular, are definitely detrimental. The majority of gay individuals are not involved in this movement, and work among us as normal, upright citizens. Organizations like the Point foundation (which primarily offers a range of scholarships for sexual minorities enternig under- and graduate programs) is more representative of average gays. most estimates place that 10% of males are homosexual (and I think about 8% of females). there's really more of them than you think. Now, Kinsey (a biologist specializing in human reproduction and sex) stated that (and this is now upheld by science) everyone exists on a gradient from straight to gay. it is not a boolean matter. Kinsey recommended the Kinsey Scale, which runs from 0 to 6, 0 being completely heterosexual (very rare) and 6 being completely homosexual (very uncommon). He theorized (and this to is upheld by modern research) thath the average individual is actually bisexual (there is a typical statistical bell curve for sexual orientation) but pressures of environment (society and norms) cause many individuals that are properly bisexual to identify exclusively as heterosexual.

note: I apologize if I don't make sense. I'm running a high fever right now and I must damit I'm not totally on top of things.
