Illegal Immigration

I was writing a paper for English today based on a book by Luis Alberto Urrea, The Devil's Highway, and it occurred to me how ridiculous and paradoxical the whole situation is. The Border Patrol in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas is there to stop illegals from entering the US, but if they do, it's responsible also for saving their lives. It's also one of the most controversial and criticized government groups in America--if it lets Mexicans in, it's harangued by the (idiotic) press, but if it lets them die, the Patrol and the various other police agencies on the border are considered monsters. Lose-lose scenario.
Feel free to debate about any facet of the immigration problem, or about whether we should close our border completely, or anything that remotely has to do with the subject. The point I brought up is one of many tangled problems with the entire system. Only rule: No Dave or Suki allowed; this thread closed its borders along time ago.
I don't recommend the book, incidentally--disagreed with the ultra-modern writing style.

My most fierce problem with Illegal Immigration is government programs that allow illegal immigrants, say, Tony from Mexico whose lived here for ten years illegally and done odd gardening jobs, to have access to citizenship before those who applied legally. It sounds fucking stupid, because why the fuck would you want them before people who have tried to follow your system? But a supposed integration of culture as well as an apologetic system that thinks it was wrong for letting the dude into the country illegally in the first place. Dudes like Tony need to get the fuck out, no matter how nicely they're doing for themselves, and dudes like Amir, who has waited those ten years to even have a chance to state his case because of a ridiculously backed up system need to be done FASTER, pronto.

[15:40:58] <blue_tetris> The government!
[15:41:00] <Tanner> Illegal immigrants.
[15:41:14] <blue_tetris> Hahahaha! Wow, what typical responses from us, Tanner.
[15:41:14] <Tanner> Haha. We're so different, Dave.

You know, John Smith wouldn't stand for this! Neither would all pilgrim dudes sailing over on the Mayflower. It's just not right that all those greedy Mexican pigs expecting a better life come to our country for refuge. Frankly, it's preposterous.

They should just build a great big wall around America and slowly fill it with water.

Nah, it's not really worth the effort. Australia dug a huge trench and filled it with ocean, and they still get illegal immigrants.

I really agree with that statement
and even worse is that the more people in any state, the worse the economy should get, because now you have 50,000 more people fighting for food, water, and shetler against the legit men and women who were already here who are getting screwed, according to SlappyMcGee
tsk. tsk.
P.S. A gaint wall?,where have i heard that idea before............

I wasn't great before, but now it's just awful. I'm gonna lock it when Tanner gives the word.
