Most people here wouldn't have heard of this, but it was big news here, and I want to say some things about it.
Wikipedia wrote:David Cullen Bain (born 27 March 1972) is a New Zealander who featured in one of the country's most notable murder cases. He was convicted in May 1995 of the murders of his parents and siblings in Dunedin on 20 June the previous year, then was found not guilty when retried on the same charges 14 years later.
Firstly, the fact that he was in jail for 14 years was bad enough, but I believe he was innocent too. His father was clearly suffering from depression, and there was almost no evidence to support David murdering his whole family.

I think this is the first time Tunco has perfectly and concisely articulated my exact feelings on a matter. Could this be the start of something beautiful?

Not a chance. I try not to rely too much on outlandish coincidence.

No. We have, far as we can tell so far, outlandish coincidence.

Yeah, it seems like it.

It's yet another example of a murder being handled badly by our cops. Apparently the police investigation was botched up and some evidence couldn't be used...

Then the retrial was biased too because many of the jury weren't ever going to say David was guilty. After the trial, one went out and hugged him, and later turned up at the celebrations for David.

Except it's the exact opposite scenario.
