Bush. How was he?
Obama. Did you go for him? How is he?
I hear Donald Trump is thinking for running next.

Ron Paul doesn't believe in evolution. Just FYI.Nostromo wrote:I'm still waiting for Ron Paul to gather more than local support.
While that may be stupid, I know some smart people who don't believe in evolution either. I don't let a politician's religious beliefs affect my opinion of him, as that's no better than the Christians who refuse to vote for any non-Christian.hairscapades wrote:Ron Paul doesn't believe in evolution. No, believing in the Christian god and believing in evolution are not the same. The latter has proof, the former does not.Rose wrote:While that may be stupid, I know some smart people who don't believe in evolution either. Very true. But I feel that the Christians don't think that.hairscapades wrote:No, believing in the Christian god and believing in evolution are not the same. The latter has proof, the former does not.
Maybe so, but you can positively sink into that smile.hairscapades wrote:Ron Paul doesn't believe in evolution. Just FYI.Nostromo wrote:I'm still waiting for Ron Paul to gather more than local support.

I was under the impression that evolution is still a theory. It's a very well-supported theory, but I'm unaware of any hard proof. Seeing as how I believe in evolution though, I'd love to see said proof if you could show me.hairscapades wrote:No, believing in the Christian god and believing in evolution are not the same. Not all Christians believe in New Earth crap. I was a theistic evolutionist for a while before becoming agnostic. Just saying.ENT474 wrote:Very true. Well... Um....Rose wrote:I was under the impression that evolution is still a theory. It's a very well-supported theory, but I'm unaware of any hard proof. I know, but there are some people who hold the same skepticism toward modern science that you and I do toward God and point to stuff that was considered common knowledge back in the old days, such as that the Earth was flat and the center of the universe. I think they're horribly wrong, but it's not like they're arguing that the sky is purple.(Oh, and btw, a scientific theory means it is right, in that it will not be overturned any time soon, and it is very well established an essentially a cornerstone of modern evolutionary biology.)
So that Suki doesn't have to tirade on this again, I'm going to link to a post of his that was inspired by someone saying a similar thing in regards to a theory that is much more controversial in the scientific community than the theory of evolution: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?p=140165#p140165Rose wrote:I was under the impression that evolution is still a theory. Ahaha. Oh man. I'm embarrassed, quite frankly.hairscapades wrote:So that Suki doesn't have to tirade on this again, I'm going to link to a post of his that was inspired by someone saying a similar thing in regards to a theory that is much more controversial in the scientific community than the theory of evolution: http://forum.droni.es/viewtopic.php?p=140165#p140165Rose wrote:I was under the impression that evolution is still a theory. Haha. You're actually featured quite heavily in this thread, Rose. Enjoy the trip down memory lane.

I'm not really surprised or disappointed by Obama; the guy ran on a moderate platform and governed as a moderate. His position on education frankly scares me but he won't have time to implement any of that crazy shit so I'm not really concerned about it.The guy has a long track record of saying he's going to do something, and not doing it. Take his proclamation, upon entering office, that the detention center at Guantanamo would be closed within a year. It's still open. Take his statements back around 2004-2006 that we needed to decriminalize marijuana. It took two years of the same issue rising to the top of polls for the guy to even address it, and he brushed it off. Take his promise to fight for better healthcare -- except during the voting, I heard more from Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid than I did from Obama. Or the whole "let's talk diplomatically to Iran".
...not that he'd do it even if he did have the time, according to you.scythe wrote:[Obama's] position on education frankly scares me but he won't have time to implement any of that crazy shit so I'm not really concerned about it.
And, of course, our education system is more or less fucked if we leave it alone, anyway.T̷s͢uk̕a͡t͜ư wrote:...not that he'd do it even if he did have the time, according to you.scythe wrote:[Obama's] position on education frankly scares me but he won't have time to implement any of that crazy shit so I'm not really concerned about it.
